Awoh Awoh Let’s Go! Sami Zayn is returning to the WWE. After 7 months out with an injury, his return was announced on NXT this week. Personally I was incredibly shocked to see him returning to NXT, because one of his last appearances was facing John Cena for the US Title during a John Cena US Open Challenge. However I’m very happy because I’m going to watch the NXT UK Tour at Nottingham on December 14th, and last Monday I was thrilled to see that Sami Zayn was advertised for the whole of the UK Tour. So I thought, what feud could Sami Zayn insert himself into upon his return to NXT?
Finn Balor
Oh tell me you don’t want to see it, but how would you book it?
Firstly I would keep both men as faces. At the end of NXT Takeover : London, Finn wins and celebrates when Sami Zayn’s music hits and just points at Balor’s title, they both nod their heads at each other and then there you go. A special feud between two of the most loved wrestlers in NXT and potentially some of the best matches of the year.
Although I believe there’s another superstar on the NXT roster who can have a helluva feud with Sami Zayn.
Samoa Joe
So I’d book this much like the ending of NXT Takeover : Unstoppable. This means have Samoa Joe beat Balor, but continue to beat down the now former champ until Zayn’s music hits he runs down to make the save, and hits a Helluva Kick onto Joe and lifts the title over Joe’s body to mark his return to NXT. This would make for an awesome feud between Zayn and Joe, but also Balor’s loss would be a stepping stone for a main roster push for Finn Balor.
However if Zayn did not win the title and only shake off his ring rust back down in NXT there is obviously only one superstar he should feud once he comes up to the main roster.
Kevin Owens
There is only one superstar Sami Zayn should feud with when he makes his main roster return and that’s of course Kevin Owens. So how would I book it?
In the weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble have Kevin Owens say that he will win the Royal Rumble and no one can or will stop him from winning. Then in the Royal Rumble match, he sticks to his word until number 27 enters and its Sami Zayn, he straight away targets Kevin Owens eliminating him, and himself in the process. Immediately chasing Owens back up the ramp and carries on attacking Owens, so basically in one night and about one minute their feud is restarted. However they shouldn’t face each other until Wrestlemania 32, because WWE have to hold off this until the “Grandest Stage Of Them All” because it’s quite possible that this match will be their best of their trilogy. Obviously to add more spice to the match, it will be for Owens Intercontinental Title in a Ladder Match.
