In my opinion the answer to this question is no, at this point in time I do believe that Roman Reigns is ready, he is not at the right level to be the main babyface in the WWE for many reasons! Firstly, he is still poor when it comes to his mic skills, when he has to cut a promo for an extended amount of time he seems to lose the interest of the crowd and does not have the skills to keep a crowd on side and interested and truly amaze us. Secondly, while his in ring skills have improved in the past year I still do not believe that they are at a high enough level to be the main face and to have the biggest and best matches on each card! Also, the crowd is still not fully behind him, when Roman Reigns enters the arena we do not hear huge pops like we do with the likes of Daniel Bryan or dean ambrose or Dolph Ziggler, there are so many wrestlers in the WWE who the fans would much rather see than Roman Reigns.
In my opinion what should happen right now is Sheamus should hold onto the championship, with the league of nations by his side I believe he could become, along with the other three superstars, some of the hottest heels in the WWE today and believe if Sheamus is continued to be booked strongly then he could become a great heel champion who could dominate the main event talent of the WWE!
There are many wrestlers who I would currently pick ahead of Roman Reigns to be the main babyface of the WWE and I believe if booked correctly could easily become one of the biggest stars. Although they are injured I want to mention both Cesaro and Seth Rollins as superstars who I believe have huge potential and I would easily pick ahead of Roman Reigns to be my top babyface! On top of this I would still pick the franchise of WWE John Cena ahead of Roman Reigns even though he is now a veteran of the business he is still a wrestler who can make the crowd cheer for him and knows how to work the crowd perfectly!
There are two superstars who are currently not out of action who I would pick ahead of Roman Reigns as the top babyface, one of them is his Shield brother Dean Ambrose, in every single arena Dean Ambrose receives a huge ovation from the crowd and I believe he would thrive as the top babyface in WWE! My second choice may shock some of you, as it is Cody Rhodes! I love Stardust as a character but I believe that in the next year we will see Cody Rhodes return to action, and when he does, if booked correctly by WWE creative, I think he could become a huge babyface!
If Roman Reigns is to be the top babyface of the WWE then I think that he first has to become the top heel of the company and then in the future turning back to being a face which would no doubt lead to the WWE Universe loving him, finally!
