#TheWrestlingBrain: Wrestlemania 35 Predictions (@callumowen98)

Hello its me TWB, and today I’ll be bring you my predictions for the marquee matches of Wrestlemania 35.

Raw & Smackdown Women’s Championship: Charlotte (C) Vs Becky Lynch Vs Ronda Rousey (C) – Winner Takes It All

Firstly congratulations to the women of WWE, who will main event Wrestlemania for the first time ever. Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names in WWE and MMA, and she has elevated the women’s division over the last 12 months. Charlotte Flair has lived up to her family surname, she has been one of the main names in the Women’s Revolution.

Becky Lynch has been arguably the most popular wrestler male or female for the last 8 months, ever since she became’The Man’. Now personally I still feel this should be Becky Vs Ronda, I’m a fan of Charlotte, but she’s not needed in this match, imagine if she’d stayed on Smackdown and faced Asuka again at Wrestlemania for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, we’d have two big female title matches instead of just the one, and the rest of the SD division being shafted and put in a battle royal.

If Wrestlemania doesn’t end with Becky holding both titles then I’ll be shocked and I think MetLife Stadium will riot. There’s only one winner here and it has to be ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. Winner (New Champion) – Becky Lynch

WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (C) vs Kofi Kingston

I have been a Kofi Kingston fan since around 2008/2009, I remember going to a house show in 2009 and my mum’s favourite wrestler on that card was Kofi, so ten years later the fact we have Kofi in a marquee match at Wrestlemania is really well deserved.

Twelve months ago Daniel Bryan was the returning hero as he made his comeback at Wrestlemania 34, now he is one of the biggest heels in WWE, and he is doing an amazing job. At this Mania we have 3 big babyfaces fighting for the 3 top titles, would it be too much to ask for if all 3 won, and personally I think not.

On paper and build wise this Mania has been average, but the 3 matches that could make this Mania memorable are those 3 that feature the fan favourites, so fans going home will remember there favourites overcoming the odds. That’s why Kofi needs to win,  and the press it would get would be great, Kofi as the 1st black WWE Champion would be massive. Winner (New Champion) – Kofi Kingston

Universal Champioship: Brock Lesnar (C) vs Seth Rollins

If Brock Lesnar retains again I will be furious, not only has his reign been once again dull and boring, but Seth Rollins is the top babyface on Raw, and unlike Reigns from last year if Seth slays the beast the MetLife Stadium will erupt with excitement and joy.

I think a main reason why Raw ratings have been dropping is down to the lack of a full time Universal Champion, and this must end on Sunday night. On Raw this week, Seth got the upper hand over Brock which usually means Seth isn’t winning at Mania. But hopefully the usually booking ideas gets thrown out of the window and Rollins wins.

There’ll be no happier person in the world on Sunday night if Seth Slays The Beast. Winner (New Champion) – Seth Rollins

No Holds Barred: Triple H Vs Batista

This match stems from a lot of storylines and previous bouts between the two. Former Evolution and Mania match main eventers, Batista and Triple H reignited their feud on Ric Flair’s birthday episode of Raw, when Batista would drag a lifeless Flair out of the locker room and asked for Triple H’s attention.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’d not see either men get physical with each which for me makes sense and adds a bit of tension and excitement for the match. Triple H is putting his career on the line here so it would likely mean he should win as he still seems to be in good shape and with more Saudi shows on the horizon, Triple H wrestling helps sells tickets.

However I’m going to risk and say Batista wins, Triple H will hopefully be stepping into Vince’s shoes whilst Vince concentrates on the XFL, and too be honest, I’m not sure how many more Triple H matches we need to see, he’s had a solid career and it should be time for the future that he’s moulding to take his place on the big shows. Winner – Batista

Kurt Angle’s Farwell Match: Kurt Angle Vs Baron Corbin

A few weeks ago Kurt Angle announced that he would have his final match at Wrestlemania, and the opponent he choose was Baron Corbin. I can understand why people were annoyed that Angle’s last match would be against someone who’s not really been booked that well for the last 4 months, and not against someone like John Cena.

However didn’t people complain when Brock Lesnar beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania because Taker’s streak should’ve been broken by a young, up and comer. What good would a John Cena Vs Kurt Angle match do for either man, sure the match would be out of respect, but no-one wins in that situation.

Imagine the boos if Corbin pins Angle, he could be a top heel, he could run his mouth saying he retired Kurt Angle. Angle doesn’t need to win this match, he’ll still go down as one of the best wrestlers in WWE/WWF/TNA history, it’s time to elevate an up and coming talent and that man is Baron Corbin. Winner – Baron Corbin
