The Aftermath of Bound for Glory

Welcome all!

I have to say that I’ve been both surprised and disappointed with the Impact tapings over the last couple of weeks. Although it’s been a very refreshing change not to see Hogan taking up all the air time and it was great to see Kurt Angle re-emerge into the ring, I’ve been really disappointed with the lack of content in each show.

As a for instance, in last week’s show, after 40 minutes there had only been one match, and that really isn’t acceptable in my view

Now I know the probable reasons for this – with the PPV coming up, they have to keep people pumped for the show. My argument to counter that is that if there’s nothing in the prior Impact taping to keep them interested, then fans are going to switch off in their droves, and I think that’s what’s been happening with Hogan on every week.

There’s still a lot of chatter out there on the net that Hulk Hogan may still re-appear on TNA as the WWE seem to be offering him a lot less than he wants to make the cross over. After a few weeks without him, can any of you say that he was honestly helping the company and not just feeding his ego? If you think he was giving something to the product, then please, let us know what you miss.

So before I lead into the Bound for Glory extravaganza, I’d like to mention Kurt Angle and his appearance on the Impact before Bound for Glory. I’ve already mentioned that it was great to see him back on Impact and he looked better than he has for a while. It must have taken a lot of gusto to strut back into the ring after it was publicly announced that he had to go into rehab. What I can say is that he seems to have battled his demons. He looks in good shape, but we just have to hope that he’s just as, if not more, capable in the ring.

Bound for Glory was upon us this week, but did it live up to expectations? I’ve yet to see all of it, but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. A couple of matches weren’t quite what I expected, but it’s been a fair show. It appears that the Aces and 8s storyline is going to continue for a while, so as long as it doesn’t get really stale, I’m OK with it. Bully Ray is a great front man for the company, and is doing some of the best work I’ve seen in a very long time. For that reason alone, they really don’t need Hogan. Bully’s a big enough character to take the heat.

Well, let’s hope Bound for Glory impressed enough people because it’s their biggest show of the year. I’m looking forward to seeing where the storylines take us and hopefully, we won’t see Hogan return! 🙂

To everyone that read my interview with Manik, thank you for the positive comments. I felt pretty privileged that he did it and he was really open to all of my questions. I hope to have another one up very soon with another X-Division star.
