Welcome to the dungeon!
We are well and truly on the way to WWE Summerslam 2014 and I am finally excited about a WWE PPV. It looks like we are going to have a stacked card from top to bottom and I think this could be one of the best Summerslam shows in history.
Last week, I wrote about the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar so I won’t go back into that too much, but this could be a hell of a match. Paul Heyman is doing fantastic work of making this match seem like it’s going to be an all out war between Cena and Lesnar.
The opening segment of RAW this week between Heyman and Cena was great to watch and as much as I dislike Cena, he made me believe how passionate he is about the WWE. This guy is WWE through and through and with every week that goes by, I seem to be liking him a little bit more.
I still stand by Brock Lesnar and I am hoping he will go on to win the championship. It could be difficult for the WWE to fill every week of RAW without the champion being there but Heyman has the ability to fill that gap. This match will be a battle and I personally would love to see it as a no-holds barred match.
I see Brock Lesnar standing tall at the end of the show as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
It’s good to finally see the WWE have a solid main-event match accompanied by a solid undercard. I know the rest of the card isn’t finalised yet but looking at the current feuds, the WWE is in a good position to put on a great show.
Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon are having one of the best feuds seen in the women’s division for a long time. The one thing I really like about this feud is that it seems to be laying the ground work for Daniel Bryan’s return.
I love the fact that the WWE has made a ‘personal’ storyline seem so important. Over the years we have seen so many feuds that have been put together just for the sake of filling time but this feud between The Authority and Daniel Bryan/Brie Bella has been great from the beginning.
I fully expect to see Stephanie McMahon win this match with help from Nikki Bella turning heel and siding with The Authority.
I know that I have only mentioned two matches that I am looking forward to but the WWE has placed themselves into a great position with other on-going feuds to put on a great show. Bray Wyatt/Chris Jericho should be a fantastic match and a possible show-stealer along with the possible match of Dean Abrose and Seth Rollins.
Paige and AJ Lee are also having an interesting feud which is rare when it comes to the divas division. They are getting valuable TV time to tell their story and they both have the in-ring skills needed to have a great match if giving enough time at Summerslam. I hope AJ retains the championship and this feud continues as it is a good way of cementing Paige as a diva for the future.
Summerslam is supposed to be the WWE’s second biggest show of the year after Wrestlemania and they way it is looking, I think this year’s show could be better than Mania.
