Hello, everyone, and welcome to another edition of ‘Fantasy Fight Friday’, SLTD Wrestling’s one stop shop for professional wrestling’s most intriguing dream matches. Don’t worry if you didn’t get a chance to vote for a winner over the last few weeks, you can still do so right now! Those polls won’t be closing any time soon.
This week we are looking at two of the most ruthless wrestlers in both WWE and TNA. Both have shown their dark side in the ring and have not only shown that they can wrestle, but that they can bring a new level of violence that not many can. Today we at SLTD Wrestling put these intensely ruthless wrestlers against one another as we see Samoa Joe and Tazz go head to head in an intense dream match.
In one corner we have ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe. Joe is probably best know for his time in TNA, but before that he was a major player in Ring Of Honor. Joe is a former ROH World Champion, where he held that title for a record 21 months! (May 2003 – December 2004). He them joined TNA in 2005, where he had a 18 month winning streak. The streak only coming to an end at the hands of Kurt Angle, a dream match in its own right. Whilst in TNA Joe became a Grand Slam champion, becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, Tag Team Champion, and Television Champion, he also won is the only man to retain his Heavyweight Title in a King of the Mountain Match. Joe left TNA in February 2015, and debut in NXT in May.
In the other corner we have ‘The Human Suplex Machine” Tazz. Tazz was best know for wrestling in ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling), Tazz was cornerstone of the ECW brand and no matter where he wrestled or announces he will always be a ECW guy. While in ECW Tazz also became a Grand Slam Champion, becoming a ECW Heavyweight Champion, Television Champion and a Tag Team Champion. Tazz also created the FTW (Fuck The World) Championship in ECW. Tazz left ECW and debuted in WWE in 2000. After he was forced to retire in 2006 he has since been a commentator in both WWE then TNA.
It goes without saying that these two machines would surely pull out all the stops to be named the winner of this match, but who would come out victorious?
SLTD Wrestling’s Tybo, author of ‘Tybo Talks’ gives his thoughts.
‘I honestly thing this match would be amazing if they were both in their prime. I have been thinking this since Tazz joined Tazz way back when and was paired with Joe.
They are both seriously intense wrestlers and are awesome in the ring. I have recently bee watching a lot of WWE from 2000, and Tazz is so good working with ‘The King’, and this is after all the amazing matches he had in ECW. I always the thought Tazz was really under-rated. I think its because he came from ECW, but I think over more time he could of been in the main event of WWE. It was a shame about his injuries.
I think the fact that Tazz is under-rated just adds to the similarities of Tazz and Joe. Samoa Joe is amazing in the ring and on the mic, I am no doubt a TNA fan, but i really think TNA and the reputation of the company and the way it is ran holds a lot of great talent down, Joe being one of them. I think this is more a reputation with fans who down watch it, to them Joe is just a TNA guy, which is a shame. That being said with him now being in WWE (NXT) I can see his career sky-rocketing.
As for picking a winner to this match, that would be a tough one. Both wrestlers are well known for their suplexes and their submissions. As soon as I seen this match, my gut said Joe would win. Think his size and speed would help a lot in such an evenly bases match. I also think Joe is more intense and willing to do whatever it takes to win a match. I think this match would have to be a ‘No Holds Bared’, or possibly a cage match to make sure a winner is crowned. This match would without a doubt end up in a huge brawl between the too. I for one would of loved to see and rivalry between the too.
So who do you think would win in an epic clash between the ‘The Suplex Machine’, Tazz and the ‘The Submission Machine’, Samoa Joe? Leave your vote here, and we encourage you to join the discussion by commenting below, to tell us why your chosen star would win the match!
