One thing I love doing is hearing people’s stories on how they got into the wrestling business. I’ve reached out to a number of people and one of the fantastic people who replied was professional wrestler Crash Jaxon.
FT – First, tell me about yourself, your history in the business and what you’re currently doing?
CJ – I am Crash Jaxon, I’m 27 years old. I’ve been wrestling for a little over 6 years now. Originally trained at Bluegrass Championship Wrestling in Eastern Kentucky. I’ve travelled all over most of the Midwest, south and northeast. I’ve also trained under Sami Calihan and Zachary Wentz. I’ve recently made my debut at Warrior Wrestling and Beyond Wrestling. Also, I’m currently the longest-reigning Amped Champion at Rockstar Pro Wrestling.
FT – What are your current thoughts in the wrestling industry both mainstream and independent scene?
CJ – I’m absolutely loving everything that the tv and indie companies are doing right now. With COVID making a huge impact on our industry, I love that everyone is persevering, doing whatever it takes and taking the necessary steps to have safe, responsible and fun wrestling events.
FT – How did you get into the business?
CJ – I’ve always wanted to be a professional wrestler. After my football career was done I had 1 goal in mind and that was to become a professional wrestler. I had no idea how to get started, but luckily I had a friend that I graduated high school with who was a wrestler. So I hit him up and he took me to my first ever live wrestling event, that was back 2013, started training at that local promotion. In the fall of 2013 and had my first match on April 21st 2014.
FT – What does being a backstage agent consist of?
CJ – An Agent oversees that a segment or a match on a show covers the main story topics/points that segment or match are supposed to cover as designated by the booker/promoter/producer
FT – What are your aspirations in the industry?
CJ – To be one of the best wrestlers/entertainers in the world
FT – If you could work for any company in the world who would that be?
CJ – If we are being completely honest, any of the top companies. WWE is the end game, but with the content that Impact, ROH and NJPW are putting out, I would love to work for either company
FT – If you could have one dream opponent/match who would it be against?
CJ – A dream opponent of mine is most definitely Aleister Black
FT – What do you think of the women’s scene in Professional wrestling?
CJ – The women that are at the top of the women’s scene are killing it right now, they can hang with anyone in the industry.
FT – With the recent controversy around certain wrestlers being involved in the #metoo movement, has this impacted on how people see wrestlers in general?
CJ – I feel like it has definitely impacted the way people see wrestlers because most people use wrestling as an escape, safe place to forget their real-world problems and issues for a few hours. And with all of that has surfaced it has almost completely ruined that safe place. It’s our duty now to be better and to make wrestling that safe space again for people.
FT – If there is anything you’d like to promote then please do it here?
