For those who don’t really follow social media, it was announced by The Miz that Mandy Rose has been transferred to Monday Night Raw. Mandy took to Twitter to complain about The Miz using his power to try and ruin her and Otis’s relationship. But is Mandy moving to RAW actually a good thing?
Mandy Rose has potentially had one of the best few months in her career. From the break up with Sonya to getting in an on-screen relationship with the Monday In The Bank holder Otis. Now she has been moved to RAW and there are a few reasons why this just may be the making of her career.
- New feuds – SmackDown has a very limited set of female talent at the moment which seems to be dominated by the Bayley and Sasha feud. Adding in the Alexa Bliss storyline, there isn’t really any more space for a strong Mandy Rose storyline. By moving her to RAW, she has the potential to start feuds with The Riott Squad members, the current women’s tag team champions and Asuka; talent we haven’t really seen her mix with.
- It moves her away from Otis – One thing that is clear for the last few weeks, it is that Otis has lost his pull. WWE has barely focused on him as a character, and whether this ties to Mandy Rose being involved in the horrible kidnapping incident, I’m not sure. One thing is clear though, and that is she needs her own character development. Otis is great, but Mandy has the potential to be a top star. Moving her away from Otis should give her the independence she needs.
- Mandy was not in the title picture on SmackDown – With Bayley and Sasha having one of the best feuds of the year, it wouldn’t be likely that anyone outside of those two will be in the title picture for the foreseeable future. Mandy would have to rely on strong second-string storylines and outside of the Alexa Bliss storyline, I don’t see much space left. By moving Mandy to RAW, she has the potential to go straight into the main event following Clash of Champions.
With the future uncertain for a lot of talent in WWE, the future does indeed like golden for Mandy Rose. The senior management appears to have a lot of faith in her, especially by moving her to RAW. It also opens up so much for talent like Sonya Deville, when she returns, and Otis for his individual run. Mandy Rose is the golden girl of WWE, and with RAW now in her sights, Asuka may need to start looking over her shoulder.
