Welcome back to “The Fox Files” as today we’re going in depth about the NXT edition of WWE 2K17, and the good and bad things about it, do let’s not waste anymore time
So, incase your not sure what you get in the NXT edition, click here to get the trailer(and the breakdown for it) but firstly, let’s talk about the good things:
Now the edition is an NXT Edition. In my opinion, this is one of the best Collectors edition that WWE Games fans have had in history, and most certainly the best one that 2K have done since they took over the franchise from THQ. It’s not a good collectors edition… it’s not a bad collectors edition but it’s THE Collectors edition to showcase the up and coming talent from NXT, and shows people what the talent is like nowadays. Also, the best thing about it though, is what you get inside the Collectors edition… who doesn’t want to have a Shinsuke Nakamura autograph on there walls, or have a Finn Valid 8 inch DEMON Statue staring at them from there cabinets, or even have a piece of the mat from NXT Takeover London, you can go as far to say even the points boost during NXT in MyCareer(which now officially confirms this mode) and you can’t find these items anywhere else, so it is definitely worth paying out £80/$100 to get these EXCLUSIVE items, because that’s what I’m doing!
Now let’s talk about some of the bad things about his collectors edition, and there’s one thing that is really bugging fans, there is NO Season Pass included in the WWE 2K17 Collectors Edition, so not only do we have to pay out £80/$100 for the special edition, but we have to pay £20/$30 on top of that for the season pass, and then sometimes it may not even include ALL the DLC that’s available, so to get the full game, your talking about spending £100/$130 which is absolutely ridiculous. The season pass is definitely confirmed for the game too because it’s available to get in the Digital Deluxe version of the game.
Since we’re talking Season Pass, let’s go into more about DLC, It’s already been confirmed by the XBOX store that there will be 4 packs this year, but I’m wanting to more talk about what 2K should REALLY do with DLC, and there’s 3 roads they can go down:
The first road is to bring back the WWE Shop, and instead of paying real-life cash, we get to buy characters, attires and more through VC in the game, as then you to spend more time on the game, but saves us from spending cash we don’t want to.
The second way 2K can change up DLC is for them to still keep the packs to be paid for, but to have free updates, for example, if John Cena changed his attire(for the 20,000 time) or Big E split up from the New Day and got a new theme song, new look and attire, 2K would update that for FREE! This way, anyone who can’t afford or doesn’t want to get the DLC is still having the game fresh and kept up to date.
The final road that 2K can go down, is instead of having packs, have them as separate attires, characters etc. Exactly like they did in WWE 13. This means that you don’t have to pay £7/$10 on a pack for just 1 superstar, you pay £0.65/$1 to get the character or attire you want to get. This way, 2K is still getting the money from DLC, but the players are only getting the DLC they want to have and nothing else.
I hope you enjoyed this and we’ll be back next week!
