Tonight’s episode led to more developments around the world heavyweight title and the main event players on the roster. The show opened up with a recap from last week’s main event between Drew Galloway and Jeff Hardy.
The first match however, and shows you these episodes are still “taped” is EY, Eric Young in a cage versus Jeff Hardy. As fans may or may not know, Young, along with Bobby Roode gave their notice and have left TNA. Most recently, Roode was spotted at NXT Dallas. Jeff Hardy in his match with Young led to a Swanton Bomb off the top of the steel cage for the victory.
Otherwise, we go to video snippets and backstage interviews with Dixie featured with Gail Kim and the Knockouts. Matt Hardy is still clamoring for a rematch and citing his title was initially stolen from him, in a typical heel move. Jeremy Borash has a in-ring promo titled the Final Words featuring Matt Hardy and Drew Galloway in their respective counterpoints and feuds. This leads to a altercation in-ring and tussle.
In the third match is a street fight with a victorious Bobby Lashley defeating The Pope, DeAngelo Dinero. Oddly enough, when did the transition return of Dinero as a wrestler; when he was a commentator with Josh Mathews? But given the obvious size difference if this were “real”, could we really give credibility to Pope, and think he had a chance to win? Mismatch.
The feud between Bennett and EC3 continues to ensue and Bennett attacks Carter with a chair. Jade on the other hand in Knockout action wins the title in a triple threat match. How many times and with little story or development can we see this rerun match over again? Gail Kim wins it this week, and now no, to “hot-shot” and gain a vibe, Jade wins the belt. Jade is the new champ this week defeating Kim and Rayne in the triple threat.
In other developments, Beer Money and Decay enter a brawl to reiterate their respective claims, and makes you wonder why or how far/successful Storm will be in his return? Roode is gone, and Storm had all of two matches in NXT; how could he go back “creatively”, outside of just money? Helms and Eddie Edwards and Trevor Lee are having their powwow and reignite the X-Division, etc.
In the main event, and despite Tyrus prior pleading and trying to be a mercenary for Matt Hardy doesn’t work. Instead, Galloway wins and defeats Hardy to retain the title.
