Oh it’s me, it’s PWV!
I thought that it would be fitting that the first entry of this blog should be about the man who gave obvious inspiration behind the name of the blog, The Beast Incarnate, BROCK LESNAR! Brock Lesnar is a man with many feats, as all of us wrestling fans know, he is a former NCAA champion, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, former UFC Heavyweight Champion and a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Brock Lesnar is a real life genetic freak!
His return on RAW in 2012 was incredible, he blew the roof off of the place, and entered himself straight into the main event into a feud with the polarising figure of John Cena. He has proven himself, time and again, as the most dominating beast in WWE history destroying the likes of Cena at Summerslam 2013, in what was, for all intents and purposes, a massacre of the then WWE champion John Cena, laying out all of The New Day during the Beast in the East WWE Network special, and recently destroying Big Show at MSG and then again the next night on RAW. On top of this he pulled off the shock of the century when he ended the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 30!
Since he has been back in WWE in 2012, Brock Lesnar has feuded with the likes of Cena, HHH, CM Punk, Undertaker, Cena (again), Seth, Roman and Undertaker (again). Each of these feuds, in my opinion, have been fantastic, the matches have been incredible and they have done wonders for created the Beast that we know and love today.
At Hell in a Cell, Lesnar’s Feud with Undertaker ends, in a match that could go either way, but I would expect another Lesnar win here! Therefore, I ask you after this what is next for Lesnar? There have been rumours of a Wrestlemania bout with The Rock, and while although I’m sure the match would go down a treat for some fans and that the numbers they’d record would be outstanding, I for one am not keen to see this feud. I would love to see Brock Lesnar square off with a man who could match him power for power, and is quite possibly the most underutilised WWE superstar in the main roster, Cesaro! If you have not been blown away yet by Cesaro’s work in WWE then I would suggest going to watch his two matches with John Cena (US Open Challenge) as examples of his ability and presence in the ring. How Cesaro is not in the main event scene is beyond me (but that’s a whole other topic!), he is one of the best wrestlers that I have ever had the pleasure to watch and think that a match with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32 would be the way to go, and would create a huge star and another huge draw for WWE in Cesaro.
Finally, I want to make two statements which I am sure will not go down too well with some WWE fans and will have a lot of people disagreeing with me straight away. Firstly, although Brock Lesnar just using suplexes is amazing and his demonstration of power is incredible I for one would love to see him bring more moves to his move-set, bring back the Kimura Lock and also bring in a few more UFC style wrestling moves! Secondly, and lastly, I ask you, without Paul Heyman by his side, would Brock Lesnar be the intimidating beast that he is today? I for one, am not so sure…
I hope you enjoyed my first entry here at SLTDWrestling, and I encourage you to follow me on Twitter at @PWVWorld, and check out my own wrestling blog at pwvworld.wordpress.com for three different midweek wrestling entries!
This has been PWV, and this was me voicing my opinion…
