It’s me TWB, yes The Wrestling Brain is back here exclusively on SLTD Wrestling and we’re 6 days away from Survivor Series and here at SLTD Wrestling we have a big week planned for all you wrestling fans. Our predictions league will continue and throughout the week on SLTD Wrestling we will be writing up our predictions for Sundays big event. One superstar who could very surprisingly still be in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament is one half of the Lucha Dragons, Kalisto. So today I will be discussing what seems to be a push for Kalisto and if it could signal the end of Lucha Dragons and the start of a singles run.
As I was scrolling through the Smackdown spoilers on Tuesday night, I was very shocked to see that Kalisto had beaten Ryback in the first round of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. However I was very pleased to read it, as I feel Kalisto could be the guy to replace Rey Mysterio as the top Lucha Libre wrestler in the WWE, as the original, Sin Cara failed to do this. Over the last few weeks it seems as though WWE have been booking the Lucha Dragons, in particular Kalisto better than they have over the last 7 months since they debuted on the main roster. Now due to Kalisto’s victory and strong showing he is set to face fellow Mexican and Hispanic star Alberto Del Rio in the Quarter Finals on last night’s Raw. In what should be a good match I firmly believe Kalisto could defeat the odds and get another upset victory, before being beaten by Roman Reigns in the Semi Finals. How ever WWE decide to book Kalisto following this tournament could be the most crucial step in Kalisto’s future. And I have a few ideas on what this could be.
Break up The Lucha Dragons
Unfortunately for The Lucha Dragons they’ve been booked poorly since there main roster debut. With a few cool spots like Kalisto jumping off the top of the chamber structure, its never really led to anywhere fir them. Perhaps with this seemingly singles push for him, we could see a Sin Cara heel turn, even as early as tonight on Raw. It of course will be a jealous partner attack, and that Sin Cara felt that he should of been in the tournament instead of his partner and that Kalisto wouldn’t be on the main roster if it wasn’t for him. It could then lead to a mask vs mask match at TLC, however this story line has been played out a few times so I have a better idea.
Bring Back the Cruiserweight Title
It’s something the crowd have been asking for, for sometime. They called for the Divas Revolution and they got it and now they want the Cruiserweight Division back and who better to front it than Kalisto. Look at who has held the Cruiserweight title in the past Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, The Hurricane, Chavo Guerrero, Brian Pillman and many more. Imagine some matches that we could see, Neville vs Kalisto is one that immediately springs to mind. Heck allow El Torito to compete as before he wore a bull costume for Los Matadoras he was a very good Lucha Libre wrestler for many Mexican promotions, like AAA. WWE could even sign some big names from the Independent scene to fill out the Cruiserweight division, like Ricochet and Angelico from Lucha Underground, they could even bring back Rey Mysterio and John Morrison, or even AJ Styles.
Anyway that’s all from me this week, should WWE push The Lucha Dragons or even split them up and push Kalisto? Should they bring back the Cruiserweight title? Much like Arnold Schwarzenegger I’ll be back… on Saturday as I do my usual predictions article for Survivor Series and then next Monday for a Survivor Series review article, but until then enjoy Raw, NXT and Smackdown or any other wrestling you may watch or even attend in the following week.
