Another week, another solid installment of NXT. And another below average recap of NXT by me in NXT Revisited.
Sideshow Strongmen
I like The Vaudevillains, and want to see them succeed in WWE, but I have this nagging suspicion that the gimmick will fall completely flat if it ever makes it to the main roster. Its fun, its fresh and its original, but bigger, less wrestling intelligent crowds will not get it, and will just give it no reaction. Its a shame because both men are clearly talented. I hope I can be proven wrong.
The match itself was fine, for a squash. English dominated the majority and then tagged in Gotch, who is incredibly strong for a man of his size and stature. Hopefully, they are being set up to go after the tag titles and de-throne the Ascension.
Irish Eyes Are Smiling
Lets take the BFF drama out of it for a second, because I’m feeling quite patriotic. Becky Lynch (better known as Rebecca Knox) hails from Dublin, Ireland and was trained by Prince Devitt among others. She’s immensely talented and now shes getting air time on NXT so I’m proud to be an Irish person today!
The match was great, and hopefully she gets more time to showcase her talents in the coming weeks.
Amore Sawft
He’s baaackkk! Enzo is back from injury and ready to take NXT by storm again with Colin Cassaday. It’s about time, even though Cass has been doing pretty well on his own up to now. I can see a split down the line pitting them against each other in a SAWFT-off but that’s for another day as it seems like they may be feuding with the French Fries for a while.
A Big Victory
Over on Raw Revisited this week, which you can read here, I said that RVD is too attached to his 2002 style but every now and again, he manages to have a great match with the right opponent. Up to now, its been people like Rollins, Cesaro etc, but now we can add Adrian Neville to that list, because this match was good! It was a bit of a spot-fest with nothing great between the high flying to ground the match technically, but it was enough to get the crowd and (I assume) the viewers involved.
