Hello its me TWB, back with my Takeover predictions articles, which is celebrating it’s one year anniversary after debuting at last year’s Takeover : Brooklyn event. If you are new to SLTDWrestling or my predictions articles I basically run down the card and give my thoughts and predictions on the matches.
Ember Moon vs Billie Kay
This will be Ember Moon’s televised debut, however she has been appearing on live house shows. I don’t know enough about Ember Moon to make a judgement or a true prediction, however the one think I do know about Ember Moon is her finisher, which is a top rope Backpack Stunner, where she jumps off the top rope and connects with a Stunner on a standing opponent.
Billie Kay hasn’t been featured heavily on NXT, until the last few weeks most recently defeating Liv Morgan with her Big Boot finisher. I presume this will a typical debut match though with Ember Moon hitting all of her big moves against the Australian Kay

Austin Aries vs No Way Jose
In my opinion Austin Aries time in NXT has so far been lacklustre, his debut against Baron Corbin at NXT Takeover : Dallas was disappointing winning by a roll up was a stupid decision as it showed Aries as weak and opportunistic even though he was supposed to be a face. His next big match was against Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover : The End was much better. Then after Aries lost to Corbin pushed him down into the mid card of NXT, facing No Way Jose.
No Way Jose is a character that in my opinion could only get over in NXT, it is a very similar character to Fandango, and I’d think if he were promoted to the main roster I think he’d struggle much like Fandango has.
Personally I believe that the now heel Aries needs this win much more than No Way Jose, Aries needs to look vicious and dominant over his opponent. Personally I think it’d do a lot for Aries if No Way Jose were to be carried out of the arena on a stretcher, as it’d build Aries as vicious heel and makes him look dangerous and sinister to anyone on the NXT roster.

Bobby Roode vs Andrade “Cien”Almas
This will be Bobby Roode’s first match in NXT that’ll be televised (he made his non-televised debut during the Download Festival), and I’m very excited to see if he lives up to all the hype surrounding him. Over the past few weeks Roode has played the obnoxious, cocky and arrogant heel to perfection in fact you could say it’s been glorious.
On the other side of the ring Andrade “Cien” Almas hasn’t lived up to the hype surrounding him, the former La Sombra hasn’t shown the big moves that he was pulling off during his days in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
I strongly believe that Bobby Roode will victorious in his first ever Takeover match and will move on to big and brighter things within NXT following this win

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs The Revival (NXT Tag Titles)
The Revival have been the best Tag team in my opinion in NXT over the past year, ever since beating The Vaudevillians at a house show last year they have either been Tag Champions or Tag Title Challengers.
However Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa ever since debuting as a tag team during the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, have had a whirlwind 10 months, this will in fact be Gargano and Ciampa’s first Takeover since arriving in NXT. Gargano and Ciampa’s stock is at an all time high at the moment following their match of the year contender during the first round match in the Cruiserweight Classic in which Gargano was victorious.
In my opinion WWE would be foolish not to waste another Ciampa vs Gargano match perhaps even on the next Takeover special, therefore I’m predicting that The Revival will win from a heel turn from Ciampa, then it’ll mean Gargano and Ciampa can feud and The Revival can feud with perhaps TM61.

Bayley vs Asuka – NXT Women’s Championship
This time last year Bayley and Sasha Banks faced off in what was called the best women’s division match ever, this time round Bayley is yet again back in Brooklyn and once again the challenger, can lightning strike twice and can Bayley wins the title.
Asuka ever since debuting at Takeover : Respect is undefeated, knocking off several big names in NXT including Emma, Nia Jax and her challenger at Takeover : Back to Brooklyn Bayley.
Aside from Bayley and Asuka the women’s division in NXT is beginning to look weak, what with Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss and Carmella all being drafted to either Raw or Smackdown. However Bayley’s call up is long overdue and her presence could be felt on Smackdown to bolster their women’s division.
But imagine the pop that Bayley would receive if she were to get back her NXT Women’s Title and become the first ever two-time NXT Women’s Champion.

Samoa Joe vs Shinsuke Nakamura – NXT Championship
Both Joe and Nakamura are ready for the main roster, and could be main eventers when thy get there, however until that day we’ll have to wait and watch them slug it out in the main event for Joe’s championship.
Shinsuke Nakamura is undefeated in NXT and has had three great matches against Sami Zayn, Austin Aries and Finn Balor. He’s arguably the biggest baby face on the roster at the moment, however I believe he is being wasted on NXT. I’m not certain of the official price but WWE signing Nakamura wasn’t cheap, no doubt WWE will make the money back on him, but will they keeping him on NXT? There’s only 1.5 million subscribers of the WWE Network, whereas 3 million on average watch Raw, that’s double the subscribers and double the money WWE could earn on the King Of Strong Style.
Therefore, I think Samoa Joe should retain his NXT Championship and move onto a new challenger in maybe Hideo Itami, whereas Nakamura could either jump over to Raw or Smackdown or stay on NXT and feud with Bobby Roode.
