Hello its me TWB back from a long hiatus to predict NXT Takeover: Dallas, if you’re long time reader of SLTD Wrestling articles you may remember my previous predictions articles, anyone new basically I run down every match on the card and give my thoughts on how I think the matches will play out.
Elias Sampson vs Apollo Crews
I’m not a huge fan of this match mainly because of Sampson’s gimmick as The Drifter. Therefore I’ll keep it short and sweet and say Apollo Crews wins with the Spin Powerbomb.
Winner – Apollo Crews
Baron Corbin vs Austin Aries
The Greatest Man that ever lived vs The Lone Wolf, firstly I never watched TNA so I haven’t seen Aries wrestle before, however I’m expecting to be amazed. On one hand you have Austin Aries in his first match in NXT against Baron Corbin who I feel is long overdue a call up to the main roster. I expect Aries to win because the simple answer is why wouldn’t he win in his debut match.
Winner – Austin Aries
The Revival vs American Alpha (NXT Tag Team Championship)
American Alpha are arguably the best tag team in the whole of the WWE at the moment, they have been on an unstoppable run ever since the Dusty Rhodes tag team classic. In the other corner you have The Revival who have been improving week after week. Personally I feel this match will steal the show, I saw this match on the UK tour in December and they put on a 15 minute epic that had the crowd chanting from bell to bell. On that night The Revival won the match, however in Dallas I think we will have new Tag Team Champions, in Jason Jordan and Chad Gable.

Asuka vs Bayley – NXT Women’s Championship
Bayley has been the Women’s Champion since NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, and in my opinion she’s the best overall character out of all the 4 Horsewoman. However I think it’s time for Bayley to drop the title and move to the main roster, especially if rumours are true that WWE are to bring back the Women’s Championship. Bayleys opponent Asuka has been tearing through her opponents ever since her NXT debut and it was inevitable that Bayley and Asuka would clash in the ring.
Winner and new champion – Asuka
Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura
This easily could be a match of the year candidate, the King of Strong Style vs The Heart and soul of NXT, it is a match that nobody thought would happen. Nakamura was loyal to NJPW whereas Zayn belonged to NXT, however now both men are in the same company. I expect the Dallas crowd to be chanting “This is Awesome” throughout the entire match. I expect Nakamura to win with his running knee finisher to put Zayn away after numerous false finishes in what will probably be Sami’s final NXT match.
Winner – Shinsuke Nakamura
Samoa Joe vs Finn Balor (NXT Championship)
In a repeat of their classic at Takeover: London, The Demon defends his title against the Samoan Submission machine. I expect this match to be better than their match at London because they don’t want their match to be overshadowed by Zayn vs Nakamura. I think it’s time for Balor to lose his title and move to the main roster. This will allow Joe to carry the belt and feud with new faces in Nakamura, Aries and Crews for the next few months.
