Monday night RAW launched new feuds and major developments, post-Wrestlemania. In a fatal four way main event, led to the return of Cesaro. However, an AJ Styles victory led to he becoming the new number one contender for Roman Reigns and his championship.
The other Wrestlemania happenings led to victories from Brock Lesnar over Dean Ambrose. Mr. McMahon for Shane’s bravado, allowed Shane to run RAW for one night only. Shane though was unsuccessful in his full-time quest as he was deposed by the Undertaker at Mania. However, we may or may not still find out what was in the hidden and secretive lockbox as was references previously.. time will tell.
The ladder match for the IC title led to a new champion; in Zach Ryder. This means Ryder defeated six other men in the ladder bout. Ryder defeated former champion in Kevin Owens, Stardust, Sin Cara, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn.
Here is a thought and realization of the great feeding system WWE has. With this loss and development though (RE: Zayn) has Zayn said goodbye to NXT and ascended into the main roster? Zayn was defeated by Shinsuke Nakamura on NXT Dallas. The rise of young stars and talent are the cream of the crop, and on all brands. Asuka for example, defeated Bayley and will bring the hard-hitting, strong-style to the women’s division of NXT. Bobby Roode was featured at NXT Dallas, and also saw his former TNA brotheren Austin Aires defeat Corbin on NXT Takeover. The American Alpha defeated Dawson and Wilder for the titles; and we saw Big Cass and Enzo Amore make their RAW debut as well.
Ryder lost the championship on RAW to the Miz, and will face Miz in a rematch on Smackdown. Miz’ wife, Maryse who is a former WWE diva returned to RAW, and helped out her husband.
The New Day was defeated by the League of Nations; at Mania. However, in a rematch featured on RAW, the new day of defeated Barrett and Sheamus. The League eliminated their “weak link” in Wade Barrett; and entering a budding feud with the Wyatt family.
The Divas battle royal led to the Total Divas tandem to win their match, and the Uso’s defeated the Dudley’s. Kalisto retained his U.S. title versus Ryback, and Baron Corbin won the memorial battle royal which had surprise entrants of Shaq, Tatanka and DDP, Diamond Dallas Page. Baron Corbin would also make his RAW debut and wrestle Dolph Ziggler to a double count-out.
Chris Jericho was victorious over Styles at Mania; and would be featured in the main event on RAW. Kevin Owens and Cesaro were the other two combatants with Styles and Jericho on Monday’s airing. The Rock appeared at Mania for the attendance record of 101,000 fans in Dallas; and beat Erick Rowan in six seconds, with a surprise appearance from John Cena.
The women’s triple threat match of Charlotte left on top, defeating Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. However, Natalya on RAW was amped up, and expressed her umbrage towards Charlotte. Natalya planted the seeds for a budding feud and subsequent rematch with Charlotte. On RAW, Sasha would gain some revenge and defeat Summer Rae in singles exhibition action.
Apollo Crews made his RAW and main roster debut defeating Tyler Breeze in singles action. The Dudley’s defeated the Uso’s in a match of retribution on RAW in a tables match.
