Ugh. That’s all I can say about most of this show. I’m getting tired of Raw and tired of things happening to people that I love. Make it stop!
Now that that suitably dramatic part is out of the way, this will be a quick recap with a lot of segments being skipped because of how bland / awful they were. There were some highlights and we will talk about them in due course!
Villains Using Logic
So it finally happened. Something that should have happened a month ago. Daniel Bryan is no longer champion, that honour goes to this guy for the second time this year:
Vacant is officially having a better year than Daniel Bryan is. I also have a theory that Damien Sandow (who we will not be talking about today) was dressed, not as a ballerina for humiliation purposes, but as Vacant so he could technically be champion for the one and only time in his life. A guy can dream!
But in all seriousness, The Authority is 100 percent right in this case, as they are most of the time. Daniel Bryan can’t wrestle, so he should NOT remain as champion. It should go to an active competitor. On the flipside though, if Orton (who automatically got into the match qithout qualifying just because) or Cena (who you know will qualify eventually) win the match over someone like Bray Wyatt or Cesaro, then I will rage quit wrestling because if you can’t use an injury to your biggest star and champion to create a new star and new champion, then WWE, you have no idea what you are doing and you can all go fuck a duck while wearing a barb wire condom and riding a boat made of fire and paedophiles. Good day!
HOSS FIGHT!
There is nothing I love more than a good old brawl. And there are 2 people in WWE at the moment who can bring out the best in Sheamus in an all out brawl! Those men are Cesaro and Bad News Barrett. He fought the latter on Raw and it was great! Just a great physical match with a lot of legitimately exciting near-finishes that really got the crowd going.
I also love that the crowd was mostly behind BND despite him being a heel, good to see people getting popular because of their talent!
The Shield: Still Awesome As A Twosome
Dean F’in Amrbose ladies and gentleman! This was the kind of promo that we don’t see anymore. Visceral, aggressive, very non-PG and just delivered with the perfect inflections, passion and facial cues that only a pro could do. Dean Ambrose is the best talker of The Shield, we all knew that. But after this, he may be able to be considered among the best in WWE. The crown will always go to Paul Heyman, with Bray Wyatt, Stephanie McMahon, all being in there but I think Ambrose should be considered a hefty contender for number 2 after tonight. Just look at this:
Reigns was there too…
Cesaro As Champ?
Could we possibly see Cesaro win the title at Money In The Bank? If I look at the current qualified participants:
- Randy Orton
- Del Rio
- Cesaro
- Sheamus
- Bray Wyatt (Spoilers for Smackdown)
and then add Cena and 2 others in there (Reigns and Kane maybe?) then I don’t see anyone new that would work apart from Wyatt and Cesaro. Wyatt would not work currently as he needs to better establish his persona and shake off the crap that Cena caused him with all the losses. Cesaro has Paul Heyman by his side, the ability to put on awesome matches with almost anyone and a ton of potential and upside. It makes sesne as well if they plan on having Brock Lesnar go for the title. This would serve a double purpose in giving Lesnar something meaningful to do but also elevate Cesaro into the main event seamlessly.
The Architect
The Rollins interview was not as good as it could have been but Rollins is definitely improving on the microphone and now that he is split from the 2 perceived better people in The Shield, he has the chance to shine on his own while having Triple H support him on screen (and possibly off also). Rollins has always been the wild card in The Shield. Reigns is the next big babyface, Ambrose is the awesome, psychopathic heel with a huge future and Rollins is the high flyer who is just kind of there. It was always a shame but this turn gives him the chance to establish himself and make or break his career!
Cena The Spotlight Stealer
Cena being involved with The Shield does not make me happy. He always tends to latch onto popular things to keep himself relevant and he’s basically doing it until they inevitably have him face Rusev and destroy any momentum he has going at the moment. He wasn’t really involved in this match and didn’t get the pin in the end so that’s something at least but overall, I think they could have picked a better partner for The Shield and just left Cena off Raw for a change.
That’s gonna do it for this week, short and sweet, unlike the painful 3 hours of Raw!
Join me for NXT Revisited this Saturday @ 6pm which is guaranteed to be longer and more positive!
Peace!
