Tonights RAW had presidence to the upcoming mini-PPV leading up to Wrestlemania. This episode of RAW previewed the main events for Roadblock. The big two-do matches will pit Sheamus versus Roman Reigns; and in a WWE title match; Triple H versus Dean Ambrose.
The Undertaker was the featured guest who appeared in an in-ring segment with Vince McMahon. They promoted the upcoming WM match versus Shane. However, it is unclear as to why UT is doing Vince’s bidding or the initial story as to how this evolved, and why UT is the opponent for Shane.
In other developments, we saw AJ Styles and Jericho defeat the New Day in a non title bout. Y2AJ are now challenging the New Day for the tag team titles. Becky Lynch and Sasha wrestled to a draw, as there is no new number one contender versus Charlotte for the title. The scuttlebutt theory is this will be a triple-threat contest for the Divas title.
The Miz after a snide pre-match promo in the back defeated the opponent who promo-ed The Miz. The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler. Rusev and Sheamus defeated the Lucha Dragons. The League is also heavily booked in the main event as it will be the League and Del Rio versus Ambrose for the main event. Again, this show is heavily geared towards the top talent and upcoming matches and developments. Little is done to properly prop up, promote or better utilize the under-card and other talent NOT in the main event picture.
Jey Uso versus Bubba Ray Dudley in singles competition led to future implications for a tag team showdown at Mania. Bubba wins versus Uso. Naomi defeated her opponent Brie in singles competition. Big Show wins by count-out versus Kevin Owens.
In the main event, Ambrose wins by DQ; but is subject to a Triple H beat down post-match and sets up the WWE Roadblock PPV in March.
