Here are the main talking points from this week’s Raw which saw a nasty injury to in a women’s tag match.
Yes kick KOs Morgan
Liv Morgan and the rest of The Riott Squad took on Natalya and the Bella twins in six-women-tag action. Early on in the bout, Brie Bella was giving Morgan her husband’s famous Yes kicks when she miss-hit one which unfortunately caught Morgan on the head, knocking her unconscious. Morgan tried to continue with the match, even taking a suplex, but she was eventually removed from the ring to receive medical treatment. It’s always scary to see someone like this happen live in the ring and I’m sure that all the whole WWE community wishes Morgan a speedy recovery and that see ring-ready in time for WWE Super Show Down where she and The Riott Squad will face Ronda Rousey and the Bella twins.
Mind games played on Ambrose and McIntyre
Throughout the night, The Shield and the tandem of Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler were trying to split up each other’s trios by putting some manipulative words into the heads of Dean Ambrose and McIntyre. The Dogs of War told Ambrose that the Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins don’t care about him and only care for their respective championships. Whereas Rollins proclaimed to McIntyre that Ziggler is holding him back and that he can do much better without The Showoff. There didn’t seem to be any cracks in The Shield as they saw off the team of Baron Corbin and The Authors of Pain in the main event. This feud is very much heating up before Super Show Down and it will be interesting to see who turns first out of Ambrose and McIntyre if either turn at all.
Ziggler and McIntyre humble The Revival
Despite their recent dealings with The Shield, Ziggler and McIntyre defended their Raw tag team championships against The Revival. The ‘Top Guys’ put in a valiant effort, but they were beaten after a Claymore Zig-Zag from the champs. There doesn’t seem to be enough credible threats to Ziggler and McIntyre belts at the moment, meaning WWE need to do better with their Raw tag team division.
Konnor creates some personal history
Konnor, one half of The Ascension, defeated Chad Gable in singles action this week, which was his first singles win on the main roster in three years. So congratulations to him, but unfortunately the WWE Universe do not seem to care for The Ascension or this feud with Gable and Bobby Roode.
Rush and Lashley = gold
The 23-year-old piece of gold Lio Rush and The Dominator Bobby Lashley have formed quite the working relationship in recent weeks, with Rush being the energetic hypeman and Lashley being the showpiece. The pair once again got the better of Kevin Owens and Elias after a match between Elias and Lashley ended in a DQ. I hope this pairing continues for the foreseeable future, and I hope it brings gold around the waist of Lashley.
