Once again Team SLTD have gotten together, this time to discuss Mark Henry’s induction into the Hall of Fame.
As always let us know below your thoughts on what we are discussing.

Mark Henry is one of those superstars that most fans took for granted. When you actually take the time to look at his career you realise how much he’s accomplished, how many roles he played and his willingness to be a team player for WWE.
His role in the Nation of Domination put him on the map 20 years ago, and since then he went from strength to strength..quite literally.
His comedy role as the ‘Sexual Chocolate’ brought fans many memorable moments such as him pursuing a ‘date’ with Chyna, his night with a transvestite and of course his most famous, Mae Young. Not many superstars would have agreed to that, but Henry not only took on the part, but he excelled in it. A former European Champion, ECW Champion as well as World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry’s career in WWE can be looked at fondly, and for me personally will always go down as a versatile performer who always gave it his all.
From Hall of Pain to Hall of Fame.

Mark Henry is someone who I always thought should have won more titles than he did in his career. He was a unique athlete who was also was great on the microphone. Me, just like everyone else, was fooled by his ‘retirement’ promo back in 2013. I also liked his hall of pain gimmick back in 2011. I was hoping he would have a marque PPV match for his retirement but that doesn’t seem to be happening. I hope he doesn’t leave our TV screens just yet, maybe he could take Daniel Bryan’s job as Smackdown GM now Bryan has been cleared to wrestle. Henry is a great company man and a deserving member of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Mark Henry has been a childhood favourite of mine since he teamed with The Rock at the 1998 Summerslam at MSG. He was in Rock’s corner during the IC title ladder match. I remember that match like it just happened. Coincidentally, that was the first time I’d ever watched a WWE match. Mark has gone on to do amazing things since then. From his days as Sexual Chocolate, still my favourite gimmick of his, to his Hall of Pain days, he’s pulled semi trucks, lifted cars, and so much more. He deserves every bit of the Hall of Fame. He’s had countless tag partners, rivals, and funny moments. I’d like to say thank you to Mark because he made my childhood so much better

Mark Henry deserves to go to into the Hall of Fame just for that ‘fake retirement’ speech. It was the June 17th, 2013 episode of Raw, and Mark Henry came out in a salmon suit and announced his retirement. He thanked his wife, his family, his friends and his co-workers, and for a split second, he became a fan favourite. He fooled us all, he proceeded to World Strongest Slam John Cena and although his title shot was unsuccessful, in an instant he became a top heel of the company once again.
Then there’s the Hall of Pain run, feuding with The Big Show, Sheamus and Randy Orton. The Big Show match at Vengeance features one of my favourite spots inside a WWE ring, Henry superplexed his opponent off the top rope, only for the ring to collapse, it’s a moment that will stay in my memory for a long time. In conclusion, I think Henry for the last 20 years has been one of WWE’s most loyal, valued and respected members of the roster, and I think it’s a pity he only held the World title once in his tenure. Hopefully, at the Hall Of Fame, we see the salmon suit make its return. Congratulations Mark Henry

As the sexual Chocolate of SLTD wrestling, I’m proud of the fact the Worlds Strongest Man is finally going into the HOF.
Despite Henry only being a one-time world champion, (unless you count the ECW Championship) he changed the landscape of WWE whilst he was an active wrestler. Transitioning through many different personas, Henry put on great feuds with the likes of Undertaker, Big Show and John Cena. Mark Henry is an amazing addition to the Hall of Fame, and personally, at the ceremony, I hope he puts Goldberg in the Hall of Pain.

One of the biggest, polarising figures in the whole of WWE history. Whether Mark Henry was in the Nation Of Domination or winning World Championships, Mark Henry has been one of the best. Two of my favourite all-time moments came from Mark Henry, firstly his whole “Hall Of Pain” run was SO MUCH FUN to watch. And secondly, the retirement speech and that Salmon jacket! (he better wear it for this speech…) Mark Henry is truly one of a kind.
I listen to his radio/podcast station and you can still tell he has the mind for the business and seems like one of the kindest people. This is LONG overdue and this is the speech I’m looking forward to the most. I can’t wait to welcome Mark Henry officially to the Hall Of Fame.
@Tybo_SLTD (Tybo Talks)
He is a small town Silsby, Texas born boy done good. Mark Henry, is not only a 20+ year veteran in WWE, but he is also a multi-time strongman competition winner and a great ambassador for all of WWE’s fundraising, Tribute to the Troops and Be a Star campaign. He has never taken himself too seriously and was always up for any storyline. This was shown in full force when he took on the ‘Sexual Chocolate’ gimmick and working (a little too) closely with Mae Young.
He then turned his gimmick on its head and started inducting everyone and anyone into his own ‘Hall of Pain’ and in the process became Smackdown’s top heel and the World Heavyweight Champion. Its no lie that Henry has been overlooked in his career, but maybe this Hall of Fame induction will be a great reminder of just how deserving he is.
