Once again Team SLTD have gotten together to give our thoughts on who we think will come out victorious at Great Balls of Fire this Sunday. Will it be the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar or will Samoa Joe become the new champion?
We all give our thoughts below, let us know in the comments below who you think will win!
@ColinHebert614 (The Curtain Jerker)
I was actually hoping this match would be set up for SummerSlam as I view the “Big 4” ppv’s as great times to get new (to WWE) talent over and establish them in a big way. Also, I think SummerSlam would be a great time for Brock to drop the belt, just not right now. Lesnar will win, barely because Joe will be booked in such a way that Lesnar will have to hit a low blow after interference on Paul Heyman’s part to secure the victory.

Brock v. Joe. MMA v. Judo. Conquerer v. Destroyer. The WWE audience are the true winners.
Brock obviously is the safe bet, he’s a money draw and future Hall of Famer. However, I feel Vince is business savvy enough to take the risk and put the belt on Joe, hopefully leading to Brock v. Joe 2 at some point in the future.
Good God, I can’t wait to have my eyes glued to Great Balls of Fire.

Goodness gracious it’s Great Balls of Fire time, as “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe takes on the WWE Universal Champion “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar and I have 5 simply words which will sum up this match “Joe is gonna kill you” my prediction and it’s a very risky and bold prediction is that Samoa Joe will become the new Universal Champion,

I think Lesnar is going to still walk out as Universal Champion, but I think Brock might actually have to work for this one. Samoe Joe is the closest thing to anyone Brock has faced since returning to WWE with an MMA background, so it’s not like going to be another 20+ German suplexes followed by an F5. i wouldn’t be surprised if it goes into a no contest.

Well it’s hard for me to root for a guy like Lesnar to retain when his Universal Title ‘reign’ so far has consisted of winning it at Wrestlemania, and 3 or 4 appearances on RAW in over 3 months.
WWE scratch their heads like monkeys to wonder why the ratings have been scarily low during this time when the answer is obvious, fans want to see title matches.
Joe is a very credible opponent for someone like Lesnar, he doesn’t look mismatched and like an underdog. I could totally buy into Samoa Joe walking out as champion, but unfortunately I think we’ll probably be seeing the Universal Title for the last time until Summer Slam time after the stupidly named Great Balls of Fire PPV as Brock will retain.

This is how you build a feud. The fact that Joe has come across as someone who could legitimately beat The Beast is maybe the most shocking thing about this whole feud. Now, I’m not saying that Joe is not in Lesnar’s league, I’m saying the fact that WWE have seen this too is great. Honestly, I would love Joe to win just because I would love to not only see Joe as champion but having the Universal Championship back on every Raw would really help the show. That being said, I just can’t see it happening, maybe if this was Summer Slam. Although I think Lesnar will walk out with the championship, I don’t think it will be an easy ride. Joe is going to take it to Lesnar like no one else has in a long time!
