Its that time of the month again, the second Smackdown exclusive PPV since the brand split No Mercy is on Sunday and as always the SLTD Team have got together to give their thoughts on the main event threat match between WWE World Champion AJ Styles and his challengers Dean Ambrose and John Cena, but who do we think will walk out Now Mercy as Champion?

This Sunday’s main event between AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and John Cena for the WWE World Championship is one of the most anticipated, with the importance and “big fight feel” of the match pouring through. Ambrose has been the “tweener” in this entire feud, with Cena playing Cena and Styles the ever awesome heel.
Cena’s 16th world championship is the elephant in the room, and both Ambrose and Styles have made sure to discredit that over the past few weeks. So does that mean Cena will win? No. WWE will not waste the 16th Championship at No Mercy, and should capitalise on it at a bigger PPV.
That leaves Ambrose and Styles as candidates to win. But there will only be one and that man is AJ Styles. The title feels a lot more important with Styles holding it, given his excessively long background in the wrestling industry. To cut his title reign this short would be a disservice to all fans and the company itself as Styles has so many feuds left to complete as champion, the most interesting of which will be against Randy Orton.
Expect an amazing match, and as any match with Styles, a potential match of the year candidate. But know this, The Phenomenal One is walking out your, WWE World Champion.

Yes it’s that time again for another WWE PPV, this time around it the return of a Smackdown PPV main evented by The Phenomenal AJ Styles defending his WWE World Championship against Dean Ambrose and John Cena in a triple threat match. Personally I believe this match is very one-sided or so I hope. I think this will be a 20-25 minute epic, with plenty false finishes. However I think AJ Styles will be walking into the match champion and he’ll walking out still your WWE World Champion.

With the title reign of AJ Styles only just getting under way, it’s very unlikely that we’ll get a title change this early into his run. Dean or Cena winning might be a shocking swerve to end the show on but AJ probably should be the one to walk out of No Mercy as the champion. All I’ll say is that the pressure is on SmackDown! to make new babyface challengers if reports of Cena and Dean taking off are true.

So we have a triple threat match for the title and we have the chance of the best triple threat match in a LONG time. SmackDown is delivering the goods a LOT at the moment and this match will go onto solidify what could easily be the best Pay Per View this year. The beauty of this match is that anyone could win the belt and still make the other two look strong, meaning everyone’s a winner. If AJ Styles retains then he could cleanly pin John Cena – it wouldn’t hurt Cena at all and would let AJ brag even more about pinning Cena cleanly. If Dean Ambrose wins then we would see the continuation of unpredictability, but on a much larger level. If Cena wins then he becomes The Man and a 16 time World Champion and people would forget the finish of the match. Whatever goes down on Sunday night, everybody wins. My prediction for the match? Style retains the belt with the Styles Clash, with Ambrose hitting Cena with the Dirty Deeds prior to Styles stealing the win. This ensures that Ambrose stays in the title picture, Cena being pinned after multiple finishing moves and the reign of Styles continuing in a cocky, heelish style.
Everybody wins.

As much as I would love to see John Cena deservedly get a 16th World Title run to match Ric Flair, i’d save that for WM. Add in the fact AJ has only just won the title, AJ will find a way to retain. What I would personally do is have AJ pin Cena then you can have an Ambrose/Cena feud one on one, whilst AJ can face the winner of Bray/Orton.

I have really enjoyed the build up to this match with all 3 men getting momentum by their sides. But it all depends on who is the better man on the night- my prediction? AJ Styles. Not only is he “The Phenomenal One” and “The new face that runs the place” but I have really enjoyed his run as WWE World Champion. AJ is one of the guys that brings out the best in everybody. Honestly not a massive fan as Ambrose & despised his run as champion, Styles is better suited. With Cena, it would be his 16th World Championship tying with Ric Flair’s record, and as much as he does deserve it and you have to respect Cena for everything he does, he’s only on a part time basis and we all know how it goes with part time champions..
So to repeat- AJ Styles is my prediction and will retain the championship
That’s what Team SLTD thinks will happen at No Mercy, but what do you think?
