Superstar Stock: #EliminationChamber 2018-2019 (@TyboTalks)

This is a brand new monthly article exclusive to SLTD Wrestling, from the mind of @TyboTalks.

We are going to looking at the ‘stock’ level of each WWE superstar on the card from one year’s PPV to the next. This month we are going to look at the different positions on the card from Elimination Chamber 2018 to Elimination Chamber 2019. If nothing else it will show the rise and fall of each wrestler over the last 365 days (or thereabout)

I will show the match card from Elimination Chamber 2018 and see if the ‘Superstar Stock’ is up or down, let’s go!

Kick-Off: Gallows & Anderson defeated Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel

Gallows & Anderson (Fall): it’s rare to see ‘The Good Brothers’ on WWE TV in the last few months, this is a huge shame as both Gallows and Anderson are great talents that seem to be wasting their best years sitting backstage at Smackdown.

Dallas & Axel (Fall): Although Dallas and Axel went on to become ‘The B Team’ and win the Raw Tag Team Championships when they eventually lost the gold they were nowhere near the championships or the Tag Team division for that matter.

Raw Women’s Championship – Elimination Chamber: Alexa Bliss defeated Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose

Alexa Bliss (Fall): Although I would say Bliss’s stock has dropped, I wouldn’t say by a lot. This is even more shocking when you couple it with the fact that Bliss hasn’t been cleared to wrestle for some time. Although Bliss isn’t in a title picture, with her running the Women’s Division, and her ‘Moment of Bliss’ show segments, Bliss is still firmly in the spotlight.

Banks & Bayley (Fall): Banks and Bayley are both in pretty much the same position they were last year. Both are back in the Elimination Chamber match, only this year they are a team and fighting for the Women’s Tag Championships.

Deville & Rose (Neutral) Although I would say Deville and Rose are in the same position as Banks and Bayley I don’t think their stock will be as high as ‘The Boss & Hug Connection’. That being said I don’t either Deville or Rose have move up or down much over the last 12 months.

Mickie James (Fall): James is always around but never really doing much. I think last year she was in the Chamber yo make up the numbers. It’s clear James is in the second half of her career, she has a great reputation where she could move up or down at any moment.

Raw Tag Team Championships: The Bar defeated Apollo Crews & Titus O’Neil

The Bar (Fall): I know I have said The Bar’s stock is down but not by much. Up until last month The Bar we’re dominating Smackdown Tag Champions. It’s unfortunate that they don’t have a match on the card as always pull out a ‘match of the night’ candidate match.

Apollo Crew & Titus O’Neil (Fall): crews and O’Neil are not even a team no more, and I’m not even sure O’Neil is an active member of the roster. WWE have recently flirted with the idea of a (much deserved) Crews push, but as yet it’s not materialised.

Asuka defeated Nia Jax

Asuka (Rise): Asuka’s stock was so low throughout 2018, I thought there was no coming back. This all changed when she won the first ever Women’s TLC match and the Women’s Smackdown Championship in the process. Asuka’s stock is riding high at the minute because as of right now she is walking into Wrestemania the champ.

Nia Jax (Neutral): Jax’s stock had moved up and down of late. Although she isn’t necessarily in the title picture she is still very much in the spotlight with a great showing in not only the Woman’s Royal Rumble, but the Men’s too. Not only that but she could legitimately walk out of the Chamber with the Tag Championships alongside Tamina.

Matt Hardy defeated Bray Wyatt

Matt Hardy (Out)
Bray Wyatt (Out)

Elimination Chamber: Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, John Cena and The Miz

Roman Reigns (Out)
John Cena (Inactive)

Braun Strowman (Fall): There is no doubt that Strowman is a future world Champion but with more than one opportunity in the last 12 months, it seems for now that’s fizzled out. Strowman seems to be getting slotted in anywhere they can just to keep him on the card.

Seth Rollins (Rise): last year Rollins was fighting for an opportunity to win the Universal Championship, this year he has punched his ticket to main even Wrestlemania. Rollins has possibly had the best year of his career in 2018 and is set to win the big one an build on that in 2019.

Finn Balor (Neutral): Although I have said Baylor’s stock has dropped, he is still in the spotlight. He is currently working a feud with Lashley for the Intercontinental Championship, and last month he was in the ring wrestling for Lesnar’s Universal Championship. Good or bad, Balor can slide into any feud for any title and make it work.

The Miz (Neutral): The Miz May not be in World Championship picture but he is the current Smackdown Tag Champion with Shane McMahon, and is in a great position going forward. Where the team will go I’m not sure, but there is no doubt wherever it is The Miz will be one of the main focal points of Smackdown.

Superstar’s Stock will always go up and down, but it’s interesting to see the change in 12 months. Superstar Stock will be back at Fastlane, but who’s stock do you think will go up or down after the Road to Wrestlemania begins… Let me know in the comments below, or tweet me @TyboTalks
