TeamSLTD – Who Will be Mr Money in the Bank 2016

Hey Folks, Team SLTD are doing double this week. With Money in the Bank tomorrow, we have got together for the second time this week to give our thoughts on who will become Mr Money in the Bank 2016.

I think what’s great about this year’s ladder match is that literally anybody could win it. There’s nothing stopping the WWE from strapping a rocket to any one of these guys no matter who they are or how outlandish it would be to see them win.

A lot of people are pointing the finger at Ambrose, but you have to understand that this concept is supposed to be utilised (not that it always has been) to get stars from the mid-card to the main event picture in one swift motion. Ambrose could fit into any championship picture right now, so he doesn’t need Money in the Bank to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title in my eyes.

My gut is telling me that Cesaro, is going to finally catch a break and be afforded an opportunity he truly deserves at Money in the Bank.

For one thing, a golden briefcase would really suit his recent obsession with formalwear and looking like a professional, but the main reason he deserves this victory is because Cesaro has proven time and again that he can hang with the best of them, and this will bring him one huge step closer to finally claiming WWE’s grandest prize.

In my eyes their are 2 contenders for this years MITB briefcase, as much as I think Zayn, Cesaro and Jericho would be great with the Briefcase I feel Owens or Ambrose will win.

Owens is ready to be in the WWE Title picture and what better way to propel him into it than winning MITB, the guy kills it every week and is a believable contender, but then you have Ambrose, the only Shield member left to not hold the title. Ambrose had his chances, I just feel with Reigns and Rollins in the tithe picture you’ll be silly not to throw Ambrose into the mix and have this Shield Triple threat everyone wants to see, It just seems the natural flow of things. So I can’t really decide between Dean Ambrose or Kevin Owens.

This year’s Money In The Bank Match I have a feeling will be the best yet. We have six of the best talents in the world right now in one match. But what’s my prediction, I hear you asking? KEVIN…. OWENS… He HAS to win, imagine Owens with the Money In The Bank briefcase, been the true heel he always is and imagine Kevin Owens with the WORLD TITLE?? Man, that sounds like a dream…

@TheWWEVoiceless (The Voice of Reason)

For me, this can be one of two people. The first is Dean Ambrose, someone I think needs this win the most. He has not had the most relevant feuds since the splitting of The Shield, with Roman and Rollins always in the main event status. With Dean winning the case, taking it to SummerSlam and cashing in just after the bell rings to start Rollins vs. Reigns to make the coveted Shield triple threat.

The other person I feel likely to win is Kevin Owens. The quality of promos he could lay while bragging about the briefcase would take him and the case to the next level and go back to the heights of when Rollins held the case for so long. All in all, one of these two men will definitely walk out with the case – my money is on Dean Ambrose.

In my opinion each superstar aside from Del Rio has a realistic chance and a good enough reason to win the MITB contract. However after Raw I highly doubt Jericho will win mainly because the usual WWE logic is that whoever looks dominant on Raw won’t win at PPV.

Sami Zayn and Cesaro will both be interesting picks to win the briefcase, however if Zayn were to win the briefcase it doesn’t really fit his underdog gimmick. With Cesaro I’m not sure if he’s exciting enough to win the briefcase mainly because of his mic skills. So it leaves it down to Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens. Logically Ambrose should win, because it adds intrigue to the Rollins vs Reigns match as fans will wonder whether Ambrose will cash in one of his former Shield brothers. However my prediction for the winner of MITB is Kevin Owens, as I feel he’ll be a fun contract holder, teasing to cash in, only to decide not to.

@TomRobinson5199 (Armbar Analysis)

For the last four weeks, my mind was made up about who I thought was going to win. Dean Ambrose was who I thought was going to win as he was the one that made the most sense. He was hot off winning his feud with Chris Jericho and now he can finally get his turn as a part of the WWE main event scene. I was convinced that they were going to go with Dean, until I saw the go-home show for RAW. On this show, Dean teased that he would win the briefcase and cash it in on that same night. As soon as he did that, I started having second doubts. If WWE history has proven anything, it’s that it’s almost a certainty that anyone that teases their win like this will lose in the end. Remember when we all thought that Roman Reigns was going to win Money In The Bank last year? The WWE can’t help themselves. I’m surely a lot of people had it in the back of their minds that Dean was going to win and then cash in on Roman or Seth, to set up a potential triple threat Shield match some time in the future. Now, the chances of that happening have went down.

So I thought back to the rest of the field and two names stood as potential winners. The first name was Kevin Owens, who is the social media fan favourite pick to win it seems. The second name, believe it or not, was Alberto Del Rio. The reason Del Rio cropped in my mind is because I thought about John Cena, Randy Orton and Sheamus all winning Money In The Bank recently. It almost seemed that they were going with the idea of giving these guys “legacy wins” if you will, in order to make your top stars stand out. I thought about Del Rio getting in and the fact that there’s been reports of Vince still being high on him. This might be seen as an odd choice, but my pick is Del Rio. Dean Ambrose has now become to obvious of a pick and I just don’t see the WWE having enough faith in Kevin Owens to give him the briefcase. My pick is Alberto Del Rio as I believe it is his destiny… to me Mr. Money In The Bank once again.
