The RAW Report – 9th July 2018 (@runner_rope)

Here are the main talking points from last night’s Monday Night Raw.

The Reigns and Lashley we want to see!
The feud between the Big Dog and The Dominator went from 0 to 100 in the space of seven days. On last night’s Raw, these two showed their badass side to themselves as Reigns took to the ring and called out Lashley which he requested moments before. The two brawlers started throwing hands before the Raw locker room came to the ring to separate them. What needs to happen before Extreme Rules this Sunday is WWE need to announce that the winner of this match will go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Summerslam.

Who’s the babyface?
Kevin Owens has had his problems with Braun Strowman over the past couple of months, and it was announced last night on Raw by Kurt Angle that Owens will face Strowman at Extreme Rules in a steel cage match. However, the recent antics of Strowman of flipping Owens’ car and pushing Owens off the stage whilst he was locked inside a port-a-potty comes across as bullying behaviour. I would be okay with this if it is leading to an Owens face turn as I think he could be an awesome babyface as he has great charisma and good comedic timing.

McIntyre allowed ringside this Sunday
In last night’s main event Seth Rollin took on Drew McIntyre with the stipulation being that if Rollins won, McIntyre would be banned from ringside for Sunday’s Intercontinental championship Ironman match. The match was a fast-paced back and forth bout with McIntyre picking up the win after a distraction from Dolph Ziggler. It’s obvious that McIntyre involvement will determine the outcome of Sunday’s match, but will it be to help Ziggler retain the title, or will he turn on his friend and help Rollins win the belt?

Women’s rivalry continues to go backwards
Two weeks ago, the feud between Sasha Banks and Bayley seemed to be set alight when Bayley savagely attacked Banks on Raw. However, this week, the two get a mere 60-second segment on Raw, and Dr Shelby was nowhere to be seen. I don’t see why WWE won’t go all in on this storyline as we know from past experience that Bayley and Banks can tell a great story in a high stakes match. There are rumours that Banks and Bayley will face off at Summerslam if true then I hope they get a good 20 minutes to put on a clinic in that ring.

Bliss and Jax get Extreme
The only Extreme Rules match on the Extreme Rules Pay-per-view is Alexa Bliss defending her Raw Women’s championship against Nia Jax, with Ronda Rousey lurking at ringside. Last night we got a little taste of what could happen as Bliss attacked Jax with a Kendo stick, Jax then got hold of the stick which caused Bliss to retreat. This was a nice way to get fans excited for this championship match this Sunday, and with Rousey also in the equation, this match will surely be one to watch at this weekend’s Pay-per-view.
