Hello everyone, welcome back to The Fox Files, and I appreciate you all taking time out of your day to read this article. In this one, we are going to be talking about Brock Lesnar, and five potential candidates who could dethrone “The Beast Incarnate” for the Universal Championship. Let’s not waste any more time and get into it.
Now, Brock Lesnar has held the championship since WrestleMania 33, when he defeated Goldberg. Everybody back then we’re thinking “Well, why are these two part-timers competing for this championship?” And we thought it was only going to be a small reign, but Brock Lesnar STILL holds the championship belt and it’s very safe to say, many WWE Fans are really annoyed with not only how Brock Lesnar is still holding the championship, but how he doesn’t defend the championship. For example, we haven’t seen him since the Greatest Royal Rumble event.
However, on a lighter note, many of us think that Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship reigns will be coming to an end at SummerSlam. The question is, who dethrones him? Here are five potential superstars who could do the deed to finally dethrone Brock Lesnar and become Universal Champion.
5. Elias – Now I’m starting off here with a REAL dark horse, but don’t be surprised if they pull this trigger. Elias may not be the best wrestler inside the squared circle, but he has certainly won over the WWE Universe and is one of the most entertaining segments every Monday night. With Elias losing at Money In The bank, where could he go from here? The Universal Championship may be the answer. It would also mean a full-time champion on Monday Night RAW.
4. The Undertaker – Now I know your first thoughts are “what, another part-time Universal Champion?” But The Undertaker is different. Not only is he one of the most respected legends in the industry, but while he’s wrestling often and coming towards the end of his career, then he certainly deserves one more championship run. Also, the personal history that Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker have and Brock Lesnar ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, then this could make for a fantastic little storyline leading up to SummerSlam.
3. Seth Rollins – now last night on Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins shockingly lost the Intercontinental Championship to Dolph Ziggler, but could that lead to more? Seth Rollins’s most recent babyface run has been one of the best I’ve seen in a LONG time, and he is one of the best wrestlers in today’s era. Could he be the one to dethrone Brock Lesnar? Don’t be surprised.
2. Roman Reigns – Now, this is the one I think WWE will go with. Roman Reigns versed Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, as well as the Greatest Royal Rumble. I think the 3rd match between these 2 superstars this year will be at SummerSlam where Roman Reigns finally gets his coronation but not for long because…
1. Braun Strowman – it’s time for him. That simple. He’s Mr Mon… Sorry, Monster In The Bank, and whether Roman Reigns finally wins Brock Lesnar, or Brock Lesnar once again retains, I feel Braun Strowman cashing in Money In The Bank would be the smartest move and finally Strowman getting what he rightfully deserves.
Certainly some interesting names on this list, I feel it’ll be #2 & #1 together, but I wouldn’t mind a surprise of someone else. Comment down below who you think should be the one to dethrone Brock Lesnar!
Until next time, see ya.
