Here are the main talking points from last night’s Monday Night Raw.
Lesnar does what Lesnar wants
Universal champion Brock Lesnar appeared on WWE for the first time since April. He appeared in some backstage segments with his advocate Paul Heyman who couldn’t convince Lesnar to go to the ring even though he was obligated to. In the night’s main event, Raw general manager Kurt Angle was seconds away from firing Heyman when Lesnar stormed to the ring and delivered an F5 to Angle before aggressively pushing Heyman to the canvas. This could be hinting that Heyman will turn on Lesnar at Summerslam which could mean a new Paul Heyman guy.
Rousey to fight on Raw
After being brutally assaulted by Alicia Fox and Alexa Bliss, Ronda Rousey went to the GM Kurt Angle and asked to get her hands on Fox. Angle, therefore, granted Rousey a match against Fox on next week’s Raw for her first match on Raw since joining WWE.
The Revival enter championship conversation
The Revival took on and defeated Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, with Raw tag team champions The B team looking on from the commentary table. This could mean a future championship opportunity for The Revival in the near future, maybe even as soon as Summerslam. A triple threat for the Raw tag team championships could be in the works for this month’s Pay-per-view, which I would like to see The Revival win.
Owens costs Strowman against Mahal
Braun Strowman lost to Jinder Mahal last night on Raw via countdown after he chased Kevin Owens who had Strowman’s Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. This is a reminder to the WWE Universe that if Strowman is counted out at Summerslam he will lose his briefcase. For me, this is the most fascinating storyline heading into Summerslam, as the result of the match having possible huge implications to the outcome of the entire Pay-per-view.
Ziggler and McIntyre one up Rollins
Seth Rollins faced Drew McIntyre last night in a good TV match. Rollins to have the win in the bag when he was attacked by Dolph Ziggler and also McIntyre to force a DQ finish. Later in the night, Rollins was conducting a backstage interview when he was blindsided by the duo once again. It seems that Ziggler is trying to gain any advantage he can before his Intercontinental championship match against Rollins at Summerslam.
