#TheWrestlingBrain Predicts: #Wrestlemania – Night One (@callumowen98)

Hello and welcome to Night One of Wrestlemania 37 predictions, I am The Wrestling Brain, let’s skip over any more introductions as I have a whopping 14 matches over 2 night’s to break down so let’s get going with our first bout.

Riott Squad Vs Natalya and Tamina Vs Lana and Naomi Vs Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose
Tag Team Turmoil
(winners face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Night Two)

As of Wednesday night, it’s currently a Fatal 4 Way turmoil match, however, there’s been speculation that the duo of Billie Kay and Carmella will be thrown in as well.

This very much feels like an opportunity just to chuck in as many of the women’s roster into one match as possible, and whilst I can understand the logic behind this, I just wish there were some build and anticipation heading into it.

Natalya and Tamina on paper have been the strongest booked team, picking up victories on Smackdown, but considering their heels, I can’t picture them facing off against Nia and Shayna.

Lana and Naomi feel like the safe bet, Lana has of course been in an on/off rivalry with Jax for at least 6 months now, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she and Naomi win here and face the champions on night two.

However I’m going to pick The Riott Squad, they’re criminally underrated and underused, and are both really likeable and come off as genuine babyfaces. I’m getting ahead of myself here but I would love to see  Ruby and Liv hold the titles, as I feel not only would it do them the world of good it would benefit the Tag Championships massively.
Winners – The Riott Squad

Cesaro Vs Seth Rollins

This has the potential of being the match of the weekend, Cesaro and Seth are two of the best wrestlers in the company, and it feels quite refreshing to see them face-off against one another.

Cesaro’s received a renewed push since the start of the year, and arguably this is his biggest feud in WWE.

Rollins returned at the Royal Rumble, but was eliminated by eventual winner Edge, he’d later appear on Smackdown and proclaimed he was the leader that Smackdown needed, which resulted in every member of the roster walking out, bar Cesaro would then be attacked by The Messiah.

A win for Cesaro here would be huge and it could finally propel him into the Universal Title picture, and that’s what I’m hoping for.
Winner – Cesaro

Braun Strowman Vs Shane McMahon
Steel Cage Match

Oh boy this feud has been pretty rough, the promos have been really bad, and I have no anticipation or excitement heading into the match.

I’ll keep my prediction short and sweet, Shane will win after being chucked off the cage, he’ll continue to call Braun stupid, and their rivalry can continue.
Winner – Shane McMahon

New Day (C) Vs AJ Styles and Omos
Raw Tag Team Championship

Compared to the last match, I’m actually quite looking forward to this one, we all know Kofi, Woods and AJ are all incredible talent, but the obvious anomaly is Omos who is making his debut.

Thus far Omos has been kept to performing limited spots as Styles bodyguard, but he’s looked good in whatever he’s done, and quite honestly the other 3 in this match will continue to make him look solid.

New Day are one of my favourite Tag Teams ever, I was worried when Big E was split from the group, as I feared both Kingston and Woods would also disband, fortunately, that wouldn’t be the case and they’d once again became Raw Tag Champions defeating The Hurt Business.

However I think their reign will come to an end at the hands of Styles and Omos, AJ hasn’t really done much in the last few months and him having a run with the tag titles will be different and exciting.
Winners and new Raw Tag Team Champions – AJ Styles and Omos

Bad Bunny and Damian Priest Vs The Miz and John Morrison

I’ll be brutally honest before Royal Rumble I’d never heard of Bad Bunny, the genre of music he plays isn’t really something that I listen to, I’m more of a Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel fan, however it can’t be denied that he has taken to wrestling like a duck to water, he seems a real natural, and from reports, he’s been training at the Performance Center for a few months especially for this match, it needs to be recognised and appreciated that he is putting in the work.

I think it’s almost a guarantee that Priest and Bunny win, so I don’t really need to dissect the match even more, but I’m really intrigued to see what Bunny’s performance will be like.
Winner – Bad Bunny and Damian Priest

Bobby Lashley (C) Vs Drew McIntyre
WWE Championship

This is probably the toughest match on night one to predict, Bobby has only held the title for around a month and it really feels he can do so much more as champion, however, I do wonder whether there’s a plan for Drew winning the WWE Championship in front of a crowd which was obviously something that was taken away from him last year.

The Hurt Business being broke up two weeks ago is still a real head-scratcher, they’d been a highlight of Raw, and it raised the stock of all its members, and I worry both Benjamin and Alexander could easily drop back down the card to irrelevancy again.

On the Raw side of things, this is the match I’m most looking forward to and that’s mainly because of the unpredictably of it all, both Lashley and Drew are coming in fairly strong and it feels big enough to take place at a Wrestlemania because it’s between two of the top stars of the Raw brand in the last year.

I can picture Drew winning and getting that babyface reaction that he deserves, I’m not entirely sure what he can next but McIntyre becoming champion in front of fans feels like a reward for his efforts in the past 12 months.
Winner and new WWE Champion – Drew McIntyre

Sasha Banks (C) Vs Bianca Belair
Smackdown Women’s Championship

I really hope this main events night one, Sasha and Bianca are two of the best women’s wrestlers in the world and deserve that opportunity.

The storyline could have been much better than has been, the inclusion of Reginald was a real damp point, but I believe the match can be saved because of the quality of both Banks and Belair.

Sasha Banks is one of my favourite female wrestlers on the roster, and she gets the best out of every opponent, her run as champion hasn’t been as good as I’d hoped but all her title defences have delivered.

At last year’s Wrestlemania Bianca Belair made her debut by laying out Zelina Vega, who she’d feud with for the majority of her time on Raw, which in hindsight was very brief but also quite unspectacular, it wasn’t until the draft in October and moving to Smackdown that she really got the TV time to shine.

I’m torn on who I think will win, Sasha as champion is always great, but Bianca is the hot new star and it’s almost a certainty that at some point she’ll hold the Smackdown Women’s Title, the bigger moment at Wrestlemania is for Belair becoming the new champion so I’m taking the EST of WWE.
Winner and new Smackdown Women’s Champion – Bianca Belair
