For those that don’t know me I used to write a regular column on TNA, but had to stop due to personnel problems – but I am back with a bang.
I will be back doing interviews with some of your favorite indy wrestling stars, My name is Dave Webber and this is ‘Caught In The Web’. Before I get down to asking the tough questions, I have a favor to ask…
If you haven’t watched TNA in a while WHY NOT!!! And if you have you will know they have gone from strength to strength. In the latest aired episode in the uk the character Manik was finally unmasked to the world as part of “The Revolution” storyline. It had a huge impact on the crowd and on me watching, being a friend and fan of the guys wrestling style. Was this a good idea or a bad one? Well I happen to know that it was something the guy in question wanted to happen.
Now I know a lot of avid watchers out there will say he has been unmasked before but if you watched, the Manik suit had been taken by Austin Aries, so TJ was never actually unmasked.
He made a very interesting point in our first interview too, that he saw the suit as if it was putting on a new entity. It gave him scope to do different things.
One thing I do know is that TJ was more than ready to lose the mask. So here we are, TJP is now an entity of his own, ready to show the world just what he is capable of as him, not a character. But is this something the world is ready for?
TNA officials are looking to keep the character with the same name and same ring gear, but how do we all feel about this? On the show from Wednesday 30th October they used the gimmick ring gear and called him Manik, but I have inside information that a lot of people want TJ to shine on his own.
I for one want to see just that TJP can bring to the ring; Manik had progressed just about as far as it could with the new gear and mask in my opinion, so who agrees with me?.
Every wrestler out there want to evolve and this is the next stage in TJP’s evolution so lets help the guy out. If you use Twitter then you will be aware of the hashtag. So lets flood TNA executives with the hash tag #ManikIsTJP and #WeWantTJP
