Hello one and all, Its been a long time but we are Back! SLTD Wrestling’s Rebirth beginning. Where better to start than predictions for the first WWE Network Exclusive PPV. Elimination Chamber.
Firstly, before I get into this thing, I will throw out a shameless plug for the All New SLTD Wrestling Predictions League. Join the fun, follow the link HERE! Get involved and tell your friends.
Elimination Chamber is set to ‘Kick Off’ with a MizTV segment featuring Daniel Bryan. I’m not really sure what the point of this really is, unless Bryan is set to announce either a return or a retirement? But I would be very shocked if he did that on a MizTV. So my guess is Bryan is just going to be there to get The Miz over as a bit more of a heel, and for the crowed a little more pumped going into the show.
I personally think this will be a great match, these two had some awesome matches on NXT for the NXT Championship before Dallas debuted on the main roster. So if this is the first match which I can see it being, unless they open with and Elimination Chamber match like they used to do when there was two World Titles. I think it will be a great opener! Neville seems to be getting pushed to the moon at the minute (excuse the pun) with him getting some great opponents since debuting and getting to the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament, I would not be surprised if he is in the United States or Intercontinental Title picture before the end of the year.
My Pick: Nevelle
Champion vs. Champion. This could be one of the most anticipated matches on the card in my opinion. Everyone who watches NXT knows that Owens has been the star of that show since his debut, and it would seem everyone wants him to kick Cena’s arse. And honestly, so do I. Those of you who know me know that I am a huge supporter of Cena, I really don’t think he is as bad as everyone says he is. I honestly think its just cooler to dislike him these days. But, that being said I think if he beats Owens, that is a major ball drop from WWE. Cena does not need a victory over Owens, but if Owens loses to Cena where does he go from there? When he does finally debut in the main roster, he has already been beaten by there top guy? This is one of those matches where its could be a make or break for Owens. Do I personally think it is to soon for Owens to be facing Cena? Yes, I really do. This feels a lot like when Sheamus became the WWE Champion within the first 60 days of being in the WWE, its all a little too much to soon. But maybe WWE will realise this giving Owens the victory and keeping him on NXT for a little while longer.
I am shocked I am going to say this, but I think Nikki is a great Divas Champion, whether this is to do with her as a champ or the fact that the divas in general have been getting a lot more time and exposure over the last few months and she looks stronger than any Divas Champion in a while, that’s up for discussion. That being said, I’m really not sure she is going to walk out on Sunday as the Divas Champion. It looks to me that WWE are really pushing for Naomi to be the top female heel in the company, and I think giving her the Divas Championship for a time to keep her on TV and in the picture would not shock me. But then again, Paige is back! It looked to me like she was going to win the title before she got took off TV, so in a shocking turn of events the Divas Championship match could be really interesting.
My Pick: Paige
So the first ever Tag Team Elimination Chamber match is happening on Sunday! I have to be honest, if this was any other sort of match this would be an absolute clusterfuck, saying this there is a pretty large possibility it still could be pretty bad! But, its new and its interesting to see how it plays out so lets hope it works out really well. I think the Tag Team division is really strong at the minute, there are quite a lot of really good teams, I think a year maybe 18 months ago there wasn’t enough teams in the WWE to even make this match. I would be quiet happy for any of the Tag Teams to win the titles. I think it will grow the division to have as many of these teams in and out of the title picture as possible. I can see the potential in any of them winning but there is a large part of me that just can not see A New Day (sucks) losing the Titles. But then again, I could very well see Cesaro and Kidd winning or even the Prime Time Players.
My Pick: A New Day
This is one of the matches I am really looking forward to, the fact that there is guaranteed to be a new champion always adds more excitement to a match. Now I have heard rumors that Rusev may be injured for this match but nothing has been confirmed, this could add something new again in a new participant. If someone new was going in the match I guess it would make sense to be Stardust, as he has been feuding with R-Truth. (not sure why he is even in this match) I am really liking everyone in this match at the minute, loving Sheamus as a heel, King Barrett is a far better gimmick that BNB the Ziggler/Rusev feud seems to be going for the next few months regardless of the outcome to this match. And Ryback really just deserves a title. As for picking a winner, again any of them could walk away with the title, But before Bryan vacated I was almost certain that Sheamus was going to beat Bryan and become Intercontinental champion so I’m inclined to go in that direction. So basically I’m playing it very safe. They are pushing the IC Title and Sheamus really hard at the minute so if they want a main eventer to be carrying the championship, Sheamus is the obvious way to go.
My Pick: Sheamus
The main thing I am loving about this match is that Ambrose is the main event picture and fighting one on one for the the WWE Championship. I think when any or all The Shield members are in the main event its never a bad thing! Rollins has been a great champion since winning at Wrestlemania. Saying that, its just good to see The Champ every week on Raw and Smackdown. (yes, that was a small pop at Lesnar) I think it would be interesting for Ambrose to win the WWE Championship, but I really cant see it happening yet. One day, but not Sunday.
That being said, this is the first ever WWE Network Exclusive (In the US) so if you was trying to get new people to watch and get those all important new subscribers what better way to do that than to shock the world, and crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Now don’t get me wrong with this, the build for Rollins to become the WWE Champion and the story that has been told since he attacked his Shield brothers makes me think this is not going to happen. I think it is far to soon for Rollins to lose the Championship to anyone. When it comes to Ambrose as WWE Champion, I am torn on whether it will ever happen if on honest. I feel WWE look at Ambrose the same way they look at Ziggler. It will take a lot for them to pull the trigger. Trust me when I say though, I really hope I’m wrong. I just cant see Sunday being Ambrose night!
My Pick: Seth Rollins
