Tybo Talks… Predictions – Slammiversary XV

Welcome once again to Tybo’s Talks! I am Tybo, and I’m sure by now you know that I am the ‘Five Star General’ of this operation we call SLTD Wrestling. Its been a long time since I have been able to do predictions for an Impact Wrestling PPV, I hope this is the beginning of more PPV’s from them.

I was going to mention here that I hope with the two unification championship matches we would get to see some all new ‘Impact Wrestling ‘ championship titles, but with the recent news that Impact is going to be rebranded Global Force Wrestling (GFW) it may be the case that they use the original GFW Championships going forward. However this does mean we will see a new GFW X-Division Title and (I would assume) a new ‘Global Grand Championship’.

Women’s Championship Unification Rosemany (Impact) vs Sienna (GFW)

Outside of Allie, these two ‘knockouts’ have owned the women’s division in Impact the last few months. Rosemary has been an undefeated champion and it was only a matter of time that these two faced off for the Women’s Championship. Now adding to the mix, the GFW Women’s Championship, and this got interesting. Honestly, as much as I have loved Rosemary, it’s hard to fault Sienna. She has become a solid heel within the company and with the addition of KM, Laurel Van Ness, and Kongo Kong I don’t think she can lose. Winner – Sienna (pinkies up!)

Moose & DeAngelo Williams vs Eli Drake & Chris Adonis

I would of much preferred an Impact Grand Championship match, as I think the concept is great. Love the idea of three round matches and Moose has really made that Championship mean something. Instead here we are in a Tag match with an NFL player… The idea of bringing none wrestlers in for big shows is not uncommon, it’s just hit and miss. I’m expecting a clear win for Moose and Williams, Williams probably getting the pin. Honestly though, Drake, Adonis, Moose and the IG Championship deserve more at the biggest show of the year. Winner – Moose & DeAngelo Williams

X-Division Championship – Sonjay Dutt (C) vs Low Ki (2 out of 3 Falls)

This rivalry has really made the X-Division great, the fact that Dutt won the Championship in India after basically chasing it for the last 15 years was a great idea. With both men being X-Division pioneers when the company started and to be back now in its re-birth is always going to make a rivalry that little more special. Dutt and Low Ki are both without a doubt two of the toughest wrestlers on the Impact roster, so this one is going to be good. No doubt this one will go to the third fall but I would be shocked if they took the Championship off Dutt so soon, but this is the X-Division so anything can happen. I just wish there was an Ultimate X match to show off the rest of the division, Matt Sydal, DJ Z, Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett and Braxton Sutter. Winner – Sonjay Dutt

Davey Richards & Angelina Love vs Eddie and Alisha Edwards (Intergender Full Metal Mayhem)

This has been one of the best rivalries on Impact in recent months, there is a lot of truth to the saying family fights harder. I can’t say enough good things about the attitude change from Davey Richards, and the addition of Angelina Love was a genus move. Their intensity when they are together is unmatched in any wrestling company right now. I can see this match being off the charts, the idea of having the twisted mind for Richards and Love in Full Metal Mayhem is something I’m very interested in. This is not taking anything away from former World Champion Eddie Edwards, Mr AIP (Anything Is Possible) can bring it when he needs to.

I think this match could easily steal the show, if not have the most highlight reel moments that everyone is talking about on Monday. In the end, I can see Eddie and Alisha getting some much-needed revenge on the Natural Born Killers Richards and Love. Winners – Eddie & Alisha Edwards

Jeromy ‘JB’ Borash & Chris Park vs Josh Mathews &  Scott Stiner

It’s not just me, this match is a strange one. Josh Mathews is so unlikable he makes a great heel, and there is no one in wrestling as controversial as Scott Stiner. I really think Impact bringing Stiner back is a risky move, but could pay off (if he shows up) just don’t give him a live mic. Let’s be honest, Park will be carrying this match. There is no doubt it will be fun to watch, but awful to watch at the same time. This match has to end with JB taking a dive off the top rope onto Mathews, maybe even through a table. Winner – JB & Park

EC3 vs James Storm (Strap Match)

EC3’s recent heel turn has revived everything that make EC3 great, and Storm is just awesome. This match should be a solid one. I am a little shocked that neither of these are in the main event for the World Championship. There was a point when I thought that the main event would be a Fatal Four Way with EC3, Storm, Patron and Lashley. Personally, I think this would have been a great main event, but this rivalry between EC3 and Storm does deserve its own match.

If the lashing Carter gave Storm on a recent Impact episode I anything to go by then this match is going to be brutal. I think Storm has got to get a measure of revenge on Carter but when it comes to a winner, it could be either guy. They could both use the victory moving forward, but I guess it comes down to which of the two are moving onto the World Championship. Winner – EC3

Tag Team Championship – LAX vs El Hijo del Fantasma & Drago vs Laredo Kid & Garza Jr vs Naomichi Marufuji & Taiji Ishimori (Fatal Four Way)

LAX have been on a war path since returning, they already own both Impact and GFW Tag Championships so there is no need to unify, and they have decimated everyone they have been in the ring with. There is a lot of new faces to Impact in this match so it will be interesting to see what they can do, and how they work together. As a huge Lucha Underground fan I am most interested in seeing Drago, he is an amazing talent, and is a true high-flying lucha star. He also looks so damn cool. When it’s all said and done I can see LAX retaining, but it would be a huge shock if a new face walked out the Champions. Winners – LAX

Impact World Championship & GFW Global Championship Unification Match – Lashley (Impact) vs Alberto El Patron (GFW)

There is a reason why Lashley gets called ‘Walking Armageddon’ He has speared his way through everyone on the Impact roster, and at one point was the World, X-Division and KotM Champion at the same time. Lashley is the top guy in Impact, there is no doubt about that, but with Impact’s newest big-name accusation in El Patron this spot could be in jeopardy.

Lashley and El Patron have had one match before and El Patron walked out with the World Championship, it was under suspicious circumstances so the ruling was over turned but El Patron did get the win. Honestly, I’m not the hugest Alberto fan but he is solid in the ring and he is an ultra-marketable wrestler throughout the world. Also, I think Alberto El Patron will be the new face of Impact’s newest re-birth, so for all these reasons I have to say Alberto is walking out the World Champion. Winner – Alberto El Patron

I am really looking forward to Slammiversary, I have been a huge TNA fan for a long time and I am looking forward to where the company goes next. Regardless of what the company is called the talent pool is strong and they have the potential to do great things.
