#TyboTalks: Five Possible Outcomes from #MITB PPV (@TheTyboLedson)

Welcome to the latest Tybo Talks, I’m sure by now you all know I am Captain of this SLTD Wrestling ship. If you listen to The SLTD Roundtable Podcast (cheap plug) you will know I have been wanting to write about more current wrestling content, so where better to start than one of my favourite PPVs.

I’m going to make five predictions that could happen at Money in the Bank, some could happen, some might happen, and some probably won’t happen… but would be really fun if they did happen.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or tweet me @TheTyboLedson

Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Ends in No Contest

This match is a re-match from Hell in a Cell where it seemed Ripley got herself disqualified purposefully, which is interesting as you would think Ripley would be the babyface when going up against Charlotte. Both Ripley and Charlotte have proved that this feud is personal, even needing to be pulled apart by a crowd of officials on Raw, and Charlotte getting busted open.

With Summer Slam just around the corner, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if this match never even got started, or at least all control was lost before an all-out brawl ensued between the two. This would easily set up a huge match on the Summer Slam stage for the two, with a no DQ, fall could anywhere match to end it once and for all.

KofiMania2

I personally think Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship run has been great, but I do think his feud with Kofi has been his best. I think it helps a lot that inserting Kofi (and Woods) into the main title picture is something fresh and new, it’s not the same old faces. The idea of ‘Kofimania 2’, will always be an intriguing one as I think a lot of fans never thought he would ever win the big one.

According to SportsBettingDime.com, Bobby Lashley is the indisputable favourite with odds at -1000 to win the match over Kofi Kingston +525, but what if Kofi can catch lightning in a bottle once again and become a two time WWE Champion, just imagine the crowd reaction, they would blow the roof off the (ARENA)

Rollins Costing Edge the Universal Championship

Edge recently made his triumphant return to Smackdown and made it clear he was there for Roman Reigns and the Universal Championship. Although he was granted his Championship match, there is no denying Seth Rollins has earned the right to be mentioned in the title picture. After Deville and Peirce seemed to agree with Rollins that he should be the number one contender this was taken away from him with Edge’s return.

Rollins and Edge are no stranger to each other if you remember their run-in back in 2014 when Rollins threatened to break Edge’s neck. These two are clearly on a collision course with both having issues with each other, and it looks like Summer Slam could be the place this dream match will take place.

WWE Finally Pulling the Trigger on Liv Morgan

The money in the Bank match is always interesting as the winner usually receives something of a good push. Hopefully, this year is no different. The only woman in the Money in the Bank who is going in with any sort of story is Liv Morgan. Liv is determined to prove herself against all comers.

I think this Sunday could be the best opportunity Morgan has to take that next step and get that all-important briefcase and go onto win the Women’s Championship. Let’s be real for a minute, Liv deserves something big, she has been put into some very lacklustre stories and not to mention she lost her Riott Squad partner in the latest round of releases, I think it’s Liv’s time to shine.

5. Big E: Mr Money in the Bank, and cash-in… on Kofi!

I think it’s safe to say that the men’s Money in the Bank could be won by any of the participants, (especially with Otis winning last year) but there is also no denying that of everyone involved Big E has to be on everyone’s radar. Since he was split from The New Day, WWE has been flirting with giving him that push everyone wants.

So, what if he was to win the Money in the Bank match, no one could argue he would be a great World Champion, but this year there seems to be a lot more emphasis on being able to cash in on either World Champion (not just your brand’s champion).

That could mean that if (and it’s a Big If) Kofi was to beat The Almighty WWE Champion and Big E wins the Money in the Bank briefcase, there could be an interesting swerve and huge heel turn from Big E. Imagine he comes out to celebrate Kofi’s win with his New Day brothers, but attacks both Wood and Kofi cashes in and walks out as the top guy on Raw.
