Hello and welcome to Episode 1 of #UKSpotlight. In this series, I’ll be highlighting UK talent as an indicator to show that the UK Wrestling scene is truly alive and kicking. There is a long list of talent of UK talent to be putting under the spotlight but I’m kicking things off today with the one and only Millie McKenzie.
Millie who?!
At 18 years of age, Millie is one of the youngest UK talents making waves. She has won multiple championships, had a dark match at an NXTUK taping and only made her debut a few years ago in 2015. In that time she has shown a maturity and wisdom in the ring far behind her years. Some of this has to be credited to her coaches and her Luke Skywalker-Yoda relationship with Pete Dunne.
Is she that good? She’s only 18
Yes. She’s worked in Germany for wXwNOW, multiple promotions in the UK and has had some great matches. I was trying to find a match that highlights her talent, but I came across this video of Millie hitting multiple German Suplexes. Even Kurt Angle would be proud of them!
If you can get a chance to watch her match vs Chris Brookes then you’ll be sold on McKenzie and be heading to buy some merch (link can be found at the end of the post!). As I mentioned previously, she’s won championships at Defiant Wrestling (formerly WhatCulture Pro Wrestling) and at Ironfirst Wrestling. If you are promoting your organisation, you want to have the best holding your belts. This is why it isn’t a surprise to me that Millie has been rewarded and awarded so early in her career.
Will I be hearing more about her?
For sure. I was hoping and praying that she would be getting some time in NXTUK to get some more coverage. I can honestly see her eventually getting onto the WWE main roster and becoming a future Women’s Champion. Before that, I’d love to see her at next years Mae Young tournament and get a decent run and a chance to show off.
At 18 years of age, the world is literally her lobster.
