These days there are so many things going on in the wrestling world that never makes it to television. Various streaming services are flooding the market with good or interesting wrestling. Those stuck watching network television risk missing out on new and upcoming stars and storylines that are fun or different. Therefore this new weekly post will look at what has been going on the past week in wrestling. So this is what happened around the internet the third week of January 2018.
Most notable on Youtube this past week was the empty arena match between Tim Storm and Jocephus. On the line was a shot for the NWA Worlds Championship, currently in the hands of nick Aldiss (better known as Magnus to some). Even if these two wrestlers are virtually unknown to most in the wrestling world this is interesting to watch. Billy Corgan has used Youtube to his advantage when telling the story of the resurrection of the NWA with the Ten Pounds of Gold series. The match was taped at the Impact Zone in Orlando during their past tapings. This match might not blow anyone away, but it one of the best culminations to a feud in quite a while and a great launching off point for the NWA.

The latest episode of Xplosion includes a match between Eddie Edwards and the young Pro Wrestling Noah star Kyomiya. It is a nice back and forth and it is clear that the young Japanese man will be going places in the future. The episode also includes an interview with Petey Williams and a three-way tag match between Beer Money, Abyss/Matt Morgan and Lethal Consequences from Sacrifice 2009. a testament to the great wrestling and where TNA was in those days. Impact also put out the latest One Night Only, but that will be covered next week.

For anyone interested in wrestling it has been difficult to avoid that Impact was having their third Barbed Wire Massacre this past week. Supposedly the final stage in a drawn-out feud between the groups LAX and oVe. This match has only happened twice before, both of them involving Abyss. I would urge anyone to go to the GWN app and look both matches up to see what horrors await those who dare step into a ring where the ropes have been replaced with barbed wire. The match was deemed too violent for Pop TV and was streamed on the recent Impact station on Twitch. I have chosen to include the link to the Youtube video of it instead though most might not have Twitch. Check out this very brutal match, although within the rules of what is acceptable by the standards of today.

==============================================================================On the Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana he is continuing with his retrospective episodes while waiting to put out his new format. This past week it was the interview he did with Kenny Omega from 2011. Omega was in a very different place then, not the star of today. Hear him talk about wrestling a nine-year-old girl and people outside. It is an interesting glimpse into his philosophy regarding what he thinks wrestling should be.

This past WWNlive put out both EVOLVE 98 and 99 and streamed it through their new service Club WWN. I have yet to try this service, but one undoubtedly gets a lot of content and access to a variety of content for 9.99.
