Wrestle Chica – This Week in WWE

Hey Everyone! Welcome to the latest Wrestle Chica. As you may know by now my name is Rach and I am the first lady of SLTD Wrestling. I thought that I would continue doing a week in review of what has been happening in WWE this week. So here is my take on what has been happening.

RAW

So we got to see yet another 6 man tag team match on RAW and shock horror it was the Wyatt Family vs Reigns, Ambrose and Orton. If this wasn’t already boring (which I have to be honest with you it is!) it would be now! We are getting the same match week in week out without anything being any different. I still have no idea why Bray attacked Reigns at Money in the Bank yet he still wants to attack him each week. Hell in the Cell is only a couple of weeks away and I am really hoping that their match then will be the end of this rivalry once and for all as honestly Bray really does deserve so much more!

Bad New Barrett sorry King Barrett is back! Am not 100% sure what’s going on with him just yet. I have made it no secret that I don’t like Sheamus and I do find him boring in the ring and wasn’t really going to watch his match with Neville. Which is slightly annoying as I do like Neville but when King Barrett was at ring side I thought something would happen between him and Sheamus.

When something did happen, but with Neville instead I was slightly confused as there is no reason why this rivalry should be happening. That being said though I suppose a series of unfortunate incidents all effecting Neville when King Barrett thinks he is helping is a good way to start a rivalry. I think if this is where they are going this will be good for Neville as he hasn’t had a legit run with anyone or a legit rivalry and to have this with King Barrett will be good for Neville and should give us some fantastic matches.

The match that we have all been waiting for at Hell in a Cell was finally announced but with a slight twist! Like I said last week I am really enjoying this story line with Kane and Seth and think the way they have gone with this is fantastic! Adding the whole if Demon Kane loses then Corporate Kane is fired is a good twist but also a little annoying as I can’t see Seth losing the title to Kane so after Hell in a Cell I think it will be no more corporate Kane which means the end of this Jeckle and Hyde personality for Kane which I have really been enjoying.

I love how Corporate Kane is now so smiley and happy and Demon Kane so angry and pissed. The way things have been with Kane at the minute does show one thing we are going to have a fantastic Hell in a Cell match but I would love to see Seth dropping the title to him and us having a demon a the champ as we haven’t had this since 00’s and I think this will bring something different to WWE that it could probably do with as things are not the best at the minute.

NXT Takeover: Respect

This was my first NXT Takeover that I have watched first in full and second live and I have to say I LOVED it! I thought the semi finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic were both fantastic. Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe work brilliantly together and it is slightly disappointing that these two aren’t a tag team as I think that they have great chemistry together in the ring but honestly if it is one thing that NXT doesn’t need it is more tag teams as I think they have a solid tag team division. This is really frustrating at the minute though as I think this is something that the main roster is missing and it would make more sense to bring a couple of these tag teams up to bring something different to the main roster.

Both of the  semi final matches were really good and considering I didn’t really know anyone in these matches (apart from Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe) I was gripped and got caught up in both matches. I thought Jason Jordan and Chad Gable were fantastic and they reminded me slightly of Kurt Angle Once I saw their match with Corbin and Rhyno I really wanted them to win and thought that they could have done so much with being the winners unfortunately they didn’t make it pass the semi finals. What I did find slightly annoying is that the teams that did make it to the final both of them weren’t actual tag teams which I think NXT missed something there as that could have gave a tag team a fantastic push. It could have led to them being number one contenders for the tag team championships but to give this title to Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe feels a little lost on them as they won’t be a tag team now that the competition has finished.

Asuka’s first match was great. I was slightly disappointed when I heard that this was going to be against Dana Brooke as honestly she isn’t the best in the ring is she but this match didn’t disappoint. I thought Asuka was fantastic and she will definitely be the next NXT Woman’s Champion. Everything about her was great in the ring, the moves she was doing were fantastic, she worked the crowd really well and even when she done the Dana Brooke arm and pose thing it was fantastic! Thankfully though this wasn’t the NXT Woman’s match of the night as the Iron(wo)man match  was absolutely fantastic.

Sasha Banks and Bayley did not disappoint agin! I only caught bits of their last match so was not entirely sure what was going to happen during this match but I knew they were going to push themselves and do everything that they could to make this not only match of the night but a match that would go down in history. This match was fantastic and this is what the divas revolution should look like. These two girls put there all in to this match and it worked fantastically. Watching these two in the match really does make you realise how bad some of the Divas on the main roster are. Not only did they put on a fantastic match but they also had the crowd (and audience) completely invested in their match. Sasha took a heel to another level!

She played to the crowd brilliantly and what she done to Izzy was, sorry to say this, a little mean but added so much to the match! These girls put on a match they actually had you at times having no idea who was going to win and kept you in suspense from the beginning to when the final bell was rung. After watching this I can now understand so much more why the crowd constantly chant we want Sasha on RAW. She is in a different league to the Divas and will definitely be going down in history as one of the greats. For me, and I think for everyone else watching, this match stole the show. Its not often that you see two match of the year contenders from the same people in the same year.

I do have to say after watching this event I am well and truly an NXT fan. There is so much going on in this development show that shows everyone week in and week out how much they are not development and how they really are the future of WWE and that the future is now. Thanks for reading everyone and let me know what you think about RAW and NXT this week. Do you agree or did something else stand out for you this week. Let me know in the comments below.
