Welcome to this issue of WWMD where we look at the current standing of Nia Jax and what could happen with her in order to be the premier female wrestler and in a standing similar to Brock Lesnar. Could Nia Jax do it? This guy thinks so. When we think of Lesnar we think of someone who is dominant, physical in and out of the ring and generally tough. For me, Nia Jax ticks those boxes, so lets see What Would Matt Do to get to be the Next Big (Female) Thing.
Step 1 : Nia Jax vs Team Local Jobber
We all know that Jax has taken out a lot of different jobbers in her time quite easily 1 on 1. So in order to make her look strong, put Team Local Jobber and Jax into a handicap match and have her plough through them. It enhances her by putting her over as a strong character, a strong wrestler and someone who can handle themselves. After the match we could see Alicia Fox come to the ring to attack Jax, leading up to….
Step 2 : Nia Jax vs Alicia Fox : The Final Battle
We’ve seen this match up a lot before so we could have one more match to finally end this sorry saga. Again, Jax would be even more dominant and even take it to the next level – when was the last time you saw a female wrestler go through the announce desk? Working with someone inside and outside of the ring, utilising what is around them goes to show the mindset of a good wrestler. Bringing that level of physicality and monster-ness to Jax would go a long, long way.
Step 3 : Pursuit of Women’s Championship
The next logical step is for Jax to go after the Women’s Championship. There are multiple scenarios to introduce her to the title scene; interfering in the Hell in a Cell match, attacking Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte, Dana backstage – anything to get her into the mix with other female wrestlers who aren’t Alicia Fox. Of course she won’t take the title to begin with because that comes later on – we are looking at the big picture here folks. I could easily see her in a 1:1 match which then finishes with all the other female wrestlers coming down to the ring, causing the DQ. It was a real shame that although she was involved in a few championship matches in NXT that she never won the big one.
Step 4 : Defeating male Local Jobbers
So, what better way to be a monster than to beat members of the opposite gender? It worked for Chyna (multiple times, it helped Beth Phoenix in a Royal Rumble match and it would help Jax. She could easily go through local jobbers easily to help her show more domination before going after her main goal : ensuring she becomes the WWE Women’s Champion.
Step 5 : Nia Jax : WWE Women’s Champion
So we’ve seen Jax evolve through destroying Alicia Fox, showing her worth in handicap matches, rubbing shoulders with the female main eventers, going against male competitors and this has all been about putting pieces into place before going for the big one and winning the WWE Women’s Champion. For me, Jax being WWE Women’s Champion is a no brainer – she ticks all the boxes. The idea with having the long build up is for fans to get invested in Jax, for them to get to know her more, to find out more about her. Then when she wins it, people will have a reason to be interested with what happens next.
