So Raw has given us the wrestling equivalent of moldy bread, a half eaten apple and warm water for dinner recently and I’m worried about the Hell in a Cell Pay Per View. So this week we take a look at what should go down inside the Devil’s playground to make it a memorable show.
KO and Rollins steal the Jeri-Show
So Owens and Rollins in a one on one match with a clean finish won’t happen – we need the gift of Jericho to help this match finish well. We could see Jericho come in to help Owens, but accidentally cause harm to him. We could see Jericho turn face and help out Rollins after KO goes low. Multiple options are available to then help us see the spectacle that could be KO vs Jericho. Even if it were for one match, it needs to happen – imagine the promos to set up the match, amazing!
Sasha and Charlotte rock the Cell
Let me say going into this match I’m worried that both wrestlers won’t come out of the match without any injuries. I worry about what Sasha has planned and also what Charlotte has up her (invisible) sleeve. There is a LOT they could do inside the Cell, hopefully not outside. I don’t want to be a downbeater here, but I worry if either of them take a leap off the cage. It’ll also cheapen Shane McMahon at WrestleMania where he near enough went into orbit. Either wrestler would win here and it wouldn’t harm the other at all.
New Day Prevail
I don’t like the fact that Cesaro and Sheamus are a tag team. It’s a recycling of the Benoit-Angle storyline from years ago and I can (unfortunately) genuinely see them win the belts. I say unfortunately because a lot of tag teams have challenged New Day and they have sent them packing – Gallows and Anderson, The Dudley Boys, The Uso’s to name a few. I’d rather see New Day hold on to the belts, Sheamus and Cesaro self destruct to set up match 7.5 and finally see a dominant tag team come along to take the belts off them.
Rusev beats Reigns
Reigns at the moment is in limbo – he needs to either drop the belt and turn against the crowd or lose to Rusev and still turn against the crowd. He has been slowly transitioning to bad guy for a while, little changes in the ring, little changes in his promos and the crowd are more receptive to him as a bad guy – so let him be bad! The only good thing about Reigns winning the title is now that all members of The Shield have held the title, so it clears that bit up on Wikipedia.
TJ gets a spotlight
Flabbergasted is how I can express my feelings for the Crusierweight division right now on Raw. It has so much potential, so much going for it but it is being used like a jobber to Nia Jax no-one wins. This match could easily give the Cruiserweights some Raw brand appeal and give them a spotlight to showcase what they can do. Winning the Crusierweight Title was a massive step for TJ but it needs to be solidified at Hell in a Cell – will we see it happen? Who knows.
